i've always been a skeptic, when someone says "hey this bad sounds like so and so", or "if you like this band you'll like them", but so i was a little reluctant to check out The Westminster Abbey inspite of all the great things i'd heard about them. Boy, am i glad i did, this may possibly be the best new band and i'm not jivin' you either. i'm a big fan of the 60's and 70's bands and music and until twa(the westminster abbey) came along i never thought any of the rock revival bands were doin it justice. i enjoy the beatles, beach boys, zombies, kinks and lovin' spoonful to name a few. the songwriting and musicianship show cased on twa's new record is unbelievable, melodies and music with such freshness and vitality you'd close your eyes and think you've time traveled back to 1965. don't take my word for it, hear for yourself. www.thewestminsterabbey.com www.purevolume.com/thewestminsterabbey
i heard some songs on their site, and although their songwriting sounds really good, the recordings sound shite, to put it bluntly. now this is most probably caus they were compressed to put on teh site, but i read the biog bit and it said the recording process is 'how it is' so i think the sounds are alrgely intentional, which i dont like. well teh onyl way to find out is to dl their actual tracks so off i go
those may be bad rips of the songs, i own the record and it sounds worlds better than online dls, "oh, no!" is my fav song by them right now, although "went to bed" is a close second. www.thewestminsterabbey.com www.purevolume.com/thewestminsterabbey

so i flew in to Los angeles, CA for the show, was really excited and nervous at the same time because i've been loving this record for quite sometime now and didn't know what to expect, the venue was sold out, people everywhere and girls screaming relentlessly for twa. it was unlike anything i'd ever seen. the band played an amazing show, it was so intense and entertaining and they sounded incredible, it really shined a new light on their music and the band. i have a new found respect for them and i can't wait until they come to new york city so i can see them again..the westminster abbey owns.
