I don't know about you guys but I'm sick of liking a band on record than when I see them live they blow! I'm looking for some new bands who put on a really great live show. I like all music. Anyone have any suggestions? As of late the best live performaces I've seen were Cobra Starship & Boys Like Girls. Cobra Starship was just in the UK. Did anyone see them?
I had a similar experience recently, I went to see Gomez with a friend a few months back and was a bit let down by the performance. They're a great band and they've released two kick ass albums (Bring It On & Liquid Skin) - But lately they're floundering it seems. I was scrolling through See Tickets this morning, and here's who caught my eye... Animal Collective Austrailian Pink Floyd (Got my ticket for that one! They're really good) Bright Eyes Chemical Brothers CSS Easy Star All Stars Gruff Rhys Jello Biafra (Probably Spoken Word that one) Joanna Newsom (Only 1 date at See, but she's well worth it!) King Creosote Lou Reed (London) Manic Street Preachers (Pretty much sold out) Of Montreal Peter & The Wolf Pendulum RJD2 Roger Waters Simple Kid Spiritualized The Bays (All music improvised on the night!) The Aliens (3 Beta Band members present) The Go! Team The Pipettes Toots & The Maytals Haha, quite a few in the end!
I quite enjoyed Australian Pink Floyd live, though of course they could never compare to seeing Roger Waters, he was mind blowing. Brian Wilson was pretty amazing too, even if he is a crazy invalid now. But the best live band I've seen has to, without a doubt, be the Levellers. They were made for seeing live. A disappointment was New Order, love them on CD, but bugger all stage presence live....
dont really know about any new bands performances lately ( must get out more ) apart from ocean colour scene last year " best live performances ive seen are HAWKWIND....
Oooooooh... glad I looked at this post, I'd never have known about that one...! Tickets now booked, thanks....!

Hmmm, odd. Perhaps it's the style of music you're into. I've never ever had a problem this way round. In fact, I see bands live then I get the CD and it's crap. actually......maybe it's not the style.... maybe it's the drugs i'm on...... unk:
