He's not what he used to be. It was basically a costume. They used to put it on tour around the country. Not sure if they still do this.

Robby the Robot was pretty good. He was in an episode on Lost in Space and competing with the other robot. The two were standing there insulting each other. Robby said something to the effect, "You're even more stupid than my sensors first indicated." :)

Wyldwynd : The guy that always got everybody in trouble was Dr.Smith. who was basically a stowaway.
The other characters were Dr. and Mrs. Robinson, their kids Judy, Penny and Will.
The pilot of the saucer was Capt West..
Funny after all these years I still remember that stuff and no I didn't look it up on the WEB.
Now if I could remember where I stashed the keys for my summer car.......

Dr. Smith was great. Especially that horrid scream he would do. He had some pretty good fights with that robot too. :)

The series is available on DVD [IMG]

Also, Doctor Smith was more than just a stowaway, he was in fact a foreign agent who was sent to sabotage the Jupiter II

I watched the film:'Forbidden Planet' not long ago & I have some 'Lost In Space' t.v. episode Video-Tapes which I haven't got around to watching.
Does anyone remember the 1950s/60/70s Japanese Toy Robots?.If they are in their original boxes they can fetch a pretty good price.

My sister and I loved to watch Lost In Space when we were kids. She had a crush on Don. June Lockhart, who played Mrs. Robinson, used to be in the old Lassie movies and her daughter was the love interest of Apollo in the original Battlestar Galactica.

Bill Mumy (Will) was on Babylon 5, though one could hardly tell it was him due to all the makeup.

Dr. Smith was too histrionic and high strung - reminded us too much of our father.

I loved the episode with Robby the Robot because Forbidden Planet was one of my favorite movies. However, the original robot was the best. I loved his voice and he had a wry sense of humor as well as being a bit cynical and sarcastic.

Yeah. That one with Robbie the Robot. Robbie and the Lost in Space robot were standing there having an ego battle and insulting each other. :)

I saw a news clip back in the 90s of a hobbyist and Lost In Space fan who made something like that using computers. I wonder if that company is run by the same guy. I think he mentioned trying to go commercial with it.

The original robot was just a costume. :)
