Your signature photo is deteriorating every time I log on. A bit like like your comments, really.

I have read Die Blechtrommel, Katz und Maus and Hundejahre (aka the Danziger Trilogie). I thought the film of Brechtrommel was quite good though they only covered about half of the book.

Which one do you recommend the most Roffa? I've read "The Tin Drum" a long time ago, and I forgot about it until Muller brought it up.

It depends on your stamina. Cat and Mouse is much shorter than the other two. To be honest it's a very, very long time since I read them, but I think Tin Drum was the best. Grass has written a lot more novels since but I'm not really sure who's been reading them.

I'll give "Cat and Mouse" a try. thanks for recommending it Roffa, and thanks to Muller for bringing up this author.
