I got an iud and stopped taking hormonal birth control in February of this year. The first period I got I had for a couple weeks, the second was normal, but here I am waiting for the third on my fourth week from the last one and I am getting cramps, but no period... Do you think it's just my hormones evening out from getting off hormonal birth control or should I be worried? I am due for an appointment to check that everything is alright with the iud... should I just wait till then and ask them what they think?

some women stop menstrating while having an IUD. My doctor told me it was normal because I got freaked out as well. I no longer get my period, I've had a mirena for 9 (i think?) months now. Once a month around the time I usually did I get crampy, bloated and crappy feeling. Once it is removed you'll go back to normal.

I didn't get Mirena, I got Paragard, it has no hormones which is why I wanted it. So I should still get my period.... Silly me though, I'm only at day 28 as it is now and I usually get crampy about a week ahead of time and I am getting some cramps. I'll wait another week and if still no show then I'll start to be concerned. My next appt is supposed to be in April, so next week should be about when I should go in... if I have my "friend" (fingers crossed) I'll just have to wait another week, if I don't I'll go next week and ask them what is going on. Thanks for your replies!
