Don't know how many of you remember Shelley ( EnonEmouse ) ? She used to hang around these forums quite a lot..........anyway just thought I'd let you all know that she flew back to Canada this morning at 6.00.a.m..............with her two youngest children............they won't actually arrive in Canada until tomorrow night.......apparently that's one of the disadvantages of taking cheap army flights, I don't know perhaps they all flap wings together or something, actually I think they have a couple of stops along the way..............She says she will hook up to a computer as soon as she can....so if anyone wants to pass on their good wishes thought I'd open up a thread for us to do that in......

Wishing you well Shelley, it was great to meet you over here, hoping you and the boys have a happy start back in Canada,

    love

    Sue

Quick flying visit as it isn't my internet connection. I get mine on the 3rd of September so hopefully will be back on a bit more then. Trip was OK. We stopped over night in Hannover then a 4 hours stop over in Iceland. Got there in the end but with a real story to tell once I am on my own connection. Sorry I never got to meet more of you before I left. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Make sure you keep in touch and if any of you are coming my way let me know there is always a piece of floor with your name on it or hell if I get a bigger place maybe even a bed. Hope everyone in Sunny (heeheehee) England is doin' fine. I brought the UK weather with me it poured rain nearly the whole first week we where here. Must dash.

Well I am hooked up at home now so can spend as much time as I want on line again.

You wouldn't believe the fun we had traveling back here. It starts off yes your on the flight come down tomorrow so we left at silly o'clock to get there on time only to be told that there was a chance I would get to Hannover and they would say I couldn't go any further as they might be putting dangerous cargo on the plane so I decided I would take the chance in the end and we got on the flight. We get to Hannover and we still are not sure if I can fly the next day but we are booked into the Holiday Inn and will know in the morning. (remember if I am bumped there I would have had to make my own way back to the UK) So none the less I didn't sleep that night and found in the morning they where going to let us on the plane. So off we go to stop in Iceland had have about 4 hours+ there. At this point I was sooooooo tired as I had been up the night before we left and the night at the airport. But the drama continues. Once we land in Calgary I am given instructions to go up the broke escalator and follow the yellow signs to Canadian customs. So we do this and start going the way the signs say. Passing through 2 security doors that will not let you go back once you have gone through them. We walk down this long very very empty hallway (by this point I am a bit concerned) when we get to the end the door is locked and says no entry construction area. Now remember we can't go back locked doors and we can go forward locked doors so we are stuck in this long hallway with no way out and no way to contact anyone. SO we are standing by the final locked door (by this point my children are learning a whole new vocabulary) wondering what to do when I see a work man and start banging on the locked door. He opens it and I ask him how to get out he says he has no idea but will go find someone. About 20 minutes later someone comes from the airport and askes how I got into a construction zone. I said I was told to follow the yellow signs and this is where they took me. He asked me who told me and I said a lady who open a sercuirty door with a punch code but I had no name. Well he said he couldn't take me to customs as it would be the wrong side so he had to go get a security guard to escort us to customs and explain to them why we where coming in the wrong way. So again we waited about another 25 minutes. I was going to explode I was sure and when he arrived I said either we stop at the restroom on the way or he would be dealing with a puddle. he laughed and let us all stop and have a pee (we shouldn't have been out of his eye sight as we hadn't cleared customs) We get to customs and I then proceed to try and explain to him what I needed to do to clear all my stuff coming later and he didn't have a clue what I was talking about and I had been traveling about 50 hours by this time and hadn't slept in over 60 so I was not very functional myself, anyhow I ended up completely filling the forms in wrong on his say so and was very luck the lady that I had to go clear my boxes coming on boat/train was understanding and she just said look lets just throw those ones out and start over as they are all wrong. So after filling in the forms at the airport I had to then go back to the other side of customs to get my luggage. By the time I went to leave they had had enough of me and didn't even stamp passports or anything so I have no record of my return to Canada. Lucky enough I kept my ticket stubs which I have been using as proof of entry.

So as you can see the trip was a bit interesting and filled with adventure. I sure as hell won't be forgetting that trip in a long time.

    Love & ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

    Maybe!!!!

My eldest son still lives there as well. He said that the UK was more home then Canada as he left here at 7 and is now 20. I will have to see what happens. I do love Engalnd in many many ways but it does cost a lot of money to fly there from here. Only Time will tell.

    Love & Miss you all
