Well, i used to like Trivium, they actually used to be my favorite metalcore band. Until their latest album The Crusade came out. I know you only like them for their new stuff, but i think it doesn't have any skill. (Just a ripoff of Metallica.) But i do like the guitar work. If you wanna listen to some good music by Trivium pick up Ember To Inferno, or Ascendancy.

I heard a few songs of theirs... and I thought, "Alright. This isn't too terrible.. the guitar's passably decent..."

...Then I saw them live and any minute shred of respect I had for them went right out the window. They were HORRIBLE. Worst part of Sounds of the Underground by FAR.

No, they are not the next Metallica at all.
They are the next step down to a cover band.
They are robbing Metallica's style and using it to write their own songs.. only thing is of course, they sound exactly like Metallica.
Shame on you that are supporting this shit.
    Cheesecore to the max.

agreed, but i can see why they have fans. the vocalist rocks... when he wants to. too bad he doesn't want to very often. they could do better as musicians

i personally think any one who doesn't like their latest music can't call themselves a true trivium fan, but that's just my opinion.

trivium are great, and who cares if they are or are not the next metallica?
does there have to be a replacement?
and does it even matter if they sound similar to metallica?
they are both fantastic bands., are doing what they love and have fans who support them.

    Right.
Nobody wants a new Metallica unless it's Metallica themselves turning back to their original form instead of this St. Anger and Death Magnetic rubbish, and releasing 'new-old' music.
What I'm saying is they are TRYING to be the next Metallica. They've obviously scoped what Metallica's music did for bringing fans (money) in, and ripped them off completely by robbing their style and pumping out 2nd rate material which is very comparable to old Metallica music.
With Matt Heafy's vocals being a literal clone of James Hetfield's, I'm surpised there hasn't been a lawsuit. That's not Matt Heafy's original singing style, and it hasn't coincidentally developed naturally that way. That's sheer effort, practice, and many listens to old Metallica records.
In my opinion, Trivium are not great. If there was no Metallica, there'd be NO Trivium today. Mind you, I suppose you could say that about a lot of bands with the influential factor Metallica has/had, but none have took it to the extent that Trivium has.
It is a big issue that they sound exactly like old Metallica. They do not have THEIR OWN distinctive sound. They are not fresh. They are not improving or pushing boundaries in the metal genre. They are nothing new. Now, if they'd of stayed with the same style as 'Pull Harder on the strings of your Martyr', maybe I'd have a bit more respect for them as a band.
If you can't see why Trivium are really doing this then may the lord have mercy on the unthinking mind..

And what about Disturbed, guys? Their last, indestructible, really rocks, I think! And they are pretty good live!

What has it got to do with Trivium? Disturbed's albums are all mediocre... Only few good songs...

    Disturbed, again, very mediocre.
Can't fucking STAND the vocals, either.
Go through me like a jagged edge.
