I hardly drink it now, but I used to drink it like a fiend when I was younger. But I've been drinking a lot of orange juice with calcium, and eating cheese and yogurt to make sure my bones don't get too weak. When my mom was growing up, she had six brothers and sisters, and they used to go through 16 gallons of milk a week. That's one of my grandma's favorite stories to tell.
I drink Soy Milk maybe once a week... I used to drink alot of cooooow milk, I just don't anymore... Not when there's... Mountain Dew and Arizona tea!
Talking about milk, I often wonder how Mankind found out they could drink milk... I mean did someone just look at a cow and think hmm... let me give that a suck and see what comes out!?
probably. hungry people=if it can feed a calf, it can feed ME. have you never watched wildlife? ever? because if you watch long enough, some things become pretty obvious.
yeah, i know cows are not wildlife. they were domesticated...which means they were ONCE UPON A TIME, some form of wildlife.
If you ask me, the first person to suck a tit must have had some serious balls! (haha, works on so many levels!)
Most humans are actually lactose intolerant; they can't digest the sugar in milk and feel really sick when they drink more than an oz or 2. 70 something % of humans are lactose intolerant (including 98% of Asians and 100% of native americans for a reason ill explain in a minute) Humans evolved the mutation for lactose tolerance about 3,000 years ago- after native americans had already crossed the land bridge and it melted. there are actually a few seperate mutations for lactose tolerance (the abililty to make the lactase digestive enzyme that digests lactose throught ones entire life). one occured in europe and thats why about 98% of northwestern europeans are lactose tolerant (50% of greeks and itlians and other mediteraneans are lactose intolerant) the other mutation occured in a tribe in africa- its actually a completely different mutation from the european mutation and on a completely different part of the genome but it does the same thing- produces lactase for the entire life of the individual. most blacks are still lactose intolerant. in fact, the main reason why about 30% of american blacks are lactose tolerant is because the average american black is 25% white and lactose tolerance is a dominant gene.
I don't drink a lot of milk because the hormones in it caused me to go up a cup size and that just wasn't cool.
