That isn't true. Look, I haven't ever really read the Bible, but I think that it is extremely stupid and ignorant to pass it off as being 'wrong' in so many respects.

Perhaps you should at least read it before you offer your opinion, because the bible DOES say all of those things............and more.

Yes, it might, but there is a lot more to it than just a few retarded stories. There are many good morals to be learned from reading The Bible, though often they are perverted or what not. I have read parts of The Bible, but not all of it.

Passing off The Bible as a piece of shit is like...saying that Picasso's artworks don't count as art and are hunks of crap as they aren't visually perfect and realistic.

Agreed... truth comes in many places, the bible being one of them. Problem is: too many groups / institutions / individuals treat the Bible as an accreddited source; all parts being the true word of God. In this case, the Bible is a tool for bringing others into their hateful world perpective...

For some reason, many seem to think that Christianity in particular, is a "all or none" religion; that one is unable to follow some of it without following all of it. To paraphrase many, "Did not God give us the senses to feel with and the brain to think with...." Personally, I have a habit of leaving the black jelly beans in the bag :)

Thanks for that. I think that religion has been messed up for kids these days as there is so much fundamentalist crap going on out there. Teenagers do not want to be associated with these people, and like homophobes having a stereotypical view of gay people, they assume that all Christians are the same insane assholes who are trying to get rich off other ignorant morons.

This is getting really religious so this is the last thing about religion that I'll post in this thread:

The Bible itself says that it is all or none and that everything in it is true.

If you pick and choose parts of the Bible to believe in then you're not Christian.

Perhaps not... but if the definition of Christian is a person who follows ALL parts of the bible literally, by implication or mandate, then Christianity does not exist.

Hopefully, not all Christians are so narrow-minded that they don't accept bi or homosexuality in this day in age. Everybody is a tiny bit bisexual anyway deep down inside, anyway, aren't they?

Being a catholic is being in a big club. Being gay and catholic isnt really playing by the current rules. Either leave the club and be a non catholic gay or bi, stop being gay or bi and enjoy the privileges of the club. Or try to change the club rules. Good luck

    In catholic Ireland

Bi sexuality or gay people are
    frowned upon...

But it seems okay that priests
    have been fecking around with
    children for years....

    Dont quite get that myself????

Wouldnt it be better if priests
slept with other priests rather than
    with children?

well of course it would be, however I really don't like the comparison of bisexuality and sex with children, you make it sound like the better of 2 evils

Absolutely. There is no equation between these two types of behaviour. The comparison seems at best a lazy observation
