I haven't seen my mother in over four years at this point and I am about to turn eighteen. I would like to try and find her somehow but I don't know how to begin. Any advice is welcome.

Well she was living in a nearby city and I had moved in with my father, in another state. Her husband died of a heroin OD and she kinda disappeared.

there's a good chance you dad has her social security number from tax forms and such, if they were ever married. A decent but still cheap PI (or program on the Web) could track where that ssn is being used.
