Last night as I was trying to fall asleep I was watching CSPAN and the protest was going on in New York and it was so amazing to see all these people together trying to work towards a better change. I believe it was Jesse Jackson I saw later who led a group in a prayer and then started saying "Help is on the way, hope is in the air" as the group started to chant this, I got major goosebumps and tears in my eyes. It was so awesome to see everyone there just unite together.

Then later I heard the media saying that the protests that are going on will most likely not make a difference for the election. Either way, I commend all of those who are out there trying to make a difference.
that's all i wanted to share

I don't understand the protest mentality I guess. Who do they think even gives a rip? The Republicans don't pay any attention to them and the Democrats stand by and say how cool it is that they are doing it.

I think its good for international influence in a way. It shows other countries in this world that we aren't all misguided and reckless like the current administration. It's pretty sad that this NEEDS to happen though. Our country has not been this divided in 30 years.

If you don't voice your opinion, how you gonna change anything?

A fine point about international sentiment.

The fact that anti-Busher's made up the largest convention protest in US history sure does SOMETHING.

The sheer numbers of people who showed up sends a clear message: a lot of people in this country are extremely dissatisfied with this administration's performance and want it replaced. It has divided the country, and four more years of Bush will mean four more years of division. Let them think about that before they cast their vote.

thanks 7river for posting your picturs in the gallery. It's so amazing to look at those and see all these people really trying to make a difference. I hope that this works and there is some sense knocked into this country.

dhs- I do so your point and I think it is a good one. I think that other countries need to see that not everyone supports what is going on. But, if the protesters are trying to change the minds of the republicans, I personally don't think it will. Most of the republicans I know that even paid any attention to the protesters were like "what a bunch of idiots". Most people have their mind made up already who they're going to vote for.
