You'll dig the Boston scenery. Parks, concerts, gatherings, flower gardens, musicians, lots of hip college students from all over. It's a big city with lots of style. Been my base since 1978, and I wouldn't want a free pad anywhere else.
This I know!!! Soaringeagle, YOU are a happenin scene! I dunno about Boston....it gets wicked cold up there....cant do the cold ( not like that at least)
I hear Milwaukee is gotta up and coming seen. Visiting there couple months ago I could see something was going down. But it gets cold.
Head to Christiania..... From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freetown_Christiania Christiania, also known as Freetown Christiania, but most commonly known amongst its inhabitants and people who come there as "fristaden" or simply "staden", is a partially self-governing neighbourhood of about 850 residents, covering 34 hectares (85 acres) in the borough of Christianshavn in the Danish capital Copenhagen. Christiania has established semi-legal status as an independent community. Christiania's Mission Statement: "The objective of Christiania is to create a self-governing society whereby each and every individual holds themselves responsible over the wellbeing of the entire community. Our society is to be economically self-sustaining and, as such, our aspiration is to be steadfast in our conviction that psychological and physical destitution can be averted." Here's their web site (you'll get more out of it if you can read Danish): http://www.christiania.org/ If your Danish isn't so good try here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ilmungo/47189166/ And this is interesting too: http://www.christiania.org/modules.php?name=NukeWrap&page=http://www.jointen.dk/mixe.php Peace, poor_old_dad
I used to like the cold before, for some personal reasons, but lately I have been hating it with passion, since it does keep me from hanging outside as much as I would want to. Still ....Boston you're my town".
kauai is pretty happening, i just left there a few weeks ago...like any place it has its pros and cons, but i dig it. the hip community is strong on that island
Milwaukee is nice, but Madison is better. Lots of hippies, and on weekends, the town square has a sort of arts festival/arts & crafts thingy. Great town to walk in, too.
Hey Dad I think we're on the same wavelength since I was just checking out Christiana yesterday. Seems pretty cool. No cars, gotta love it.
Kauai.......yes, that's probably more along my lines.....I would stay far far away from Oahu and tourist central..... Christiana....sounds lovely! And as a matter of fact, I can understand some Danish....I speak German, and Danish isnt too far off..... Crazylegs...I hear ya brother, about the cars.......
