Hello, got a few things i needed to talk about, thought I would make it a little prettier and compress it to two threads

    Career:

I am looking on going into a career with science, kind of leaning towards forensics, so I was wanting to know if anyone here or if anyone here knows anyone who is in this field that has dreads, are they having any problems finding a job or keeping it? I am only 16 now and my dreads will be probably mid-back by the time I am ready for a job, when I go in for an interview (and if I get a job), I will have my hair pulled back but I still dont know if this could possibly cause a problem, so yeah anything would be helpful. :)

    Size:

I thought if I were to ever get sick of how my dreads are, I would combine every dread with another atleast once, then let them develop until they are united pretty well, and then I would combine them all again, and again and again....the desired effect of this would be that once they are combined down to just a few dreads they will be pretty long, this process would probably take years, (I will try and stretch it for quite awhile), and yadda yadda yadda, move the number of dreads down to three giants total, one on the top of my head, one in between the back and right side, and one inbetween the back and the left side, tough to describe the positioning, but anyways I have been looking for pictures of someone whose done this or something similar, or just opinions on whether or not this seems lie a good idea.

I found when going for interviews with dreadlocks if you have them tied back alot of employers just assume you have long hair and don't even notice. I've had a couple and not had any problems with my hair. Aslong as you look presentable and scrub up ok it shouldn't be an issue!

At the end of the day, aslong as you have the qualifications and are enthusastic why wouldn't they hire you..

I'm finishing off my BSc and plan on definately continuing in science. I have work as a field assistant, in a lab ID'ing mosses and done phone surveys for fisheries and haven't had any problems thus far, even with multicolored dreads and piercings. I mean, i guess having dreadies could even be a bonus for lab work, as you are less likely to shed a nice long hair into your freshly made agar :D
