you know when they say you're about to die, your whole life flashes by ..anyone else belief this is true ? i mean for a 5 year old, 5 years of memory might be fast...but at 90 ? he'll have a whole week of flashes !!!
what about when you have an unexpected death. Like you get shot in the head out of the blue and die instantly you would have no time to have your memories flash before you. Plus what about the trauma victims. Like my friends dad was in a car wreck and his heart stopped. At the time he was clinically "dead" but they brought him back with the defibulators and tings of that sort. He said when they got him alive again it was like waking up. It was like he had been passed out. Nothing special.
yes I believe it, when i was in school I almost drown in a pool.... I was laying at the bottom and giving up ... I saw a movie in my mind, very vivid... of my family... no stories. next thing I knew I was being pulled out of the water. My experience.
well i'm guessing you'll probably have other things on your mind AFTER you die. gnaw, just depends on how dissappointed you are about all the things you didn't do when it happens. i flatlined once and came near to conking myself a couple of times, nothing really as exiciting as it sounds, but i think that old cleche' is basicly a screenwriter's excuse to put all the explanitory exposition in the form of flashbacks. i think it's mostly something story tellers came up with to say that, as a way of working in background material that would otherwise disrupt the flow of narrative. =^^= .../\...
I don't think your life flashes before your eyes...When i was in a bad car wreck, everything happened in slow mo but, nothing flashed before my eyes.
I nearly died when I was working last year, I was on a construstion site and was hit by 100 volts of electricity when a cable snapped. I just saw a light blue light inside my head. Hows that for ya?
Nah, I'm fine now, I don't even have any burn scars exect for on my left hand, which has some cool patterns on it. Also it gave me super powers. :I
Wow sounds intense. I heard sometimes after stuff like that happens people have trouble with their memory like remembering short term things.
Yeah, at the time I'd just keep asking what time it was or where things where because I just couldn't keep it in my head. I'm fully recovered now though.
Well, thats good. I sometimes here on the news about people who have been struck by lightning & they have permanent effects on their neurlogical system.
Theres something that happens right before you die and while you are in the process of dying. Your body floods itself with DMT straight from the brain. DMT causes otherworldy hallucinations and puts you in a sort of shamanic trance. (go to the DMT forum to learn more) I can see where people say it flashes by, because if you've ever done a drug that makes images appear in your head, or makes you become images you know that 5 minutes can span lifetimes upon lifetimes, where time doesn't exist. I believe you see something, maybe not your life flashing, but you trip the fuck out believe me. Also, after you die, your brain is still alive for a couple minutes afterwards. No one knows what you see/do in your head, but it supposedly is like an immensly long dream that you don't wake from of course.
Same when i got in my first car crash. We were going to flip and both new it. Just as we started to flip it felt like everything slowed down until we made the impact, that felt very fast. -.-
