If you work at wal mart are you supporting it?

I'm asking because my parents are forcing me to get a job and I really don't have the self discipline to work in a place where I'll be constantly exposed to food so all I can think of is Wal Mart. I have a bit of a beef with Wal Mart, morally, and on the basis that my father owns a small business (where I teach guitar under the table), but if I were to apply there and not buy anything would I really be supporting it?

 

yup. but the serfs back in the middle ages supported fuedalism, unintentionally, they were just thinking about their and their childrens bellies. If you can get another job you dont find morally reprehensible, I reccomend it...mind you, I am active duty military, so I am so not throwing stones.

 

Why not get a job there but just do the shittest job you can.. Fuck the place up from the inside..

 

Well, the only reason I would choose walmart over another place is because I'm much better in english than in french and walmart is the only english-y place to work in grandfalls without a degree. My french isn't horrible, but the town's french people are very snooty (that is not a dig at french people as a whole, just Grand Falls ones), while the english people are generally white trash. I'm more afraid of snootyness than whitetrashyness.

 

If I were to work for Walmart, then I would steal outrageous amounts of merchandise from it... that's the perk of the job.

I do not support stealing... but it's Walmart... honestly.

I have friends in Arkansas who worked in Walmart all througout their teens and estimate to have stolen between 2000-5000$ of crap over the time.

 

Thats A LOT of merch! I would not steal, even though its Wal Mart, just on the basis that stealing is stealing one way or another and I wouldn't want to stoop down to Wal Mart's scummy level.

 

The irony of condemning Walmart and recommending stealing from them.

Yes, by selling your labour to them you are supporting them. I don't really think the company is that horrible.

 

Don't expect them to give you a lunch break...
