Marijuana 101, idiots guide

Hey guys I'm thinking of getting into "Mary Jane" but I know Nothing about it. I got a reliable friend I can get some from but I have so many questions. Like whats the different between weed, hash, and others, and is smoking it the only way to injest it? What do I need to know, look for etc? Will smoking it be harmful to my lungs? I'm sorry for being so ignorant about the subject, can anyone help me out?

It doesn't come so easily to some people. Give the girl a break, man. If she starts acting all ignorant like woodstock, then bash her ass, but she has just asked a couple of questions that she shouldn't be expected to already know, having never smoked before.

No, you can buy a vapouriser which is better for your lungs (and from what I heard; gives a better high). or you can cook it into food (eg. brownies). If you're cooking it, you'll need a lot more weed, though, and you will be stoned for longer. It's also more of a body high that I found to be vastly inferior to the effects of smoked weed.

Yes, it is. As is inhaling smoke of any kind. However, recent reports state that marijuana smoke does not cause lung cancer and may in fact help prevent it.

As for the difference between weed/hash/etc, I'm sure somebody else could give a better answer than me on that.

As such the fruits of your labor are what? (<- that's rhetorical). Careless commercial growers have done environmental damage to local flora, fauna and water. As an "activist" I thought you might have known that.

I never thought you looked stupid and actually you are doing the correct thing by asking. Your friend would probably be excited and help you more than you expect. Stoners get a kick out of firsttimers.

It's cool but I see where your coming from. I just wanted to make sure wherever I get it that it didn't harm the plant, if and when it does. I'm thinking for doing a project on it.
