I found some weed and it's dry as hell, it crumbles easily, but there are some extremley thick orange hairs on it, thicker than I've ever seen, but there isn't a lot of keif on it. So will it be decent but just really harsh do you think?
smoke it and find out. But if its really dry, it will probably burn faster than you really want. It might be a bit harsher too, but its hard to say till you smoke it. what the fuck u waiting for, spark it up.
From my personal experiences I'd have to say no. I've found weed that's been in my closet for months and almost gotten to the point of turning to powder when picked up..lol...I smoked that stuff and it got me as high as it did months before when it was much fresher. But....my throat did hurt like hell afterwards.
This weed was weird, I'm high as hell, I think it's a lot more satvia then the stuff I'm used too. Did I mention I'm high?
my buddy was going through his parents records and found roaches from like the 70's and smokes them and got blazed. he said they were gross but hey he got baked
actually dry weed is more potent per gram than wet cannabis, since the weight is made up almost exclusively of water... so long as it hasn't been stored so improperly as to damage its quality it may also burn faster and hit harsher, but if the only difference is the dryness, it should contain more THC per gram than fresh pot.
I never found it to affect potency, but it's still too harsh for my taste. putting a piece of rind from an orange in the bag helps moisten it up just enough, I find.
just a reminder: orange hairs are not an indicator of potency.... dry weed is great, by the way. i cannot smoke quickly enough to always have fresh bud, so my pot tends to last many months and, of course, gets bone dry over time. i have never noticed a loss of potency in (properly-processed) weed that has been sitting for up to about six months. the lack of water weight is great too, like nesta said. i also appreciate how it crumbles easily and doesn't stick to your fingers like fresh bud.
theres nothing i hate more than meeting up with someone to buy an eighth of nugs/dank/fire/dro/whatever the fuck other stupid term the dealer uses and show up with my 50 bucks or so, and its all wet and mushy. by the next day my 3.5g bag would be no more than 2.75-3g i'm sure, if the bag were left open - even if i didnt smoke any! it pisses me off that almost everyone in my area who sells good stuff sells it really wet. personally, i want to get what i'm paying for, and smoking water never got anybody high. if i'm paying $50 for a goddamn eighth i want it to be at least reasonably dry. if i have the chance, i try to go for beasters (around here that means not top-notch but certainly close...maybe one or two seeds, often dry and compact and well manicured...strong pot with a lot of trichomes, but not what people consider top-shelf....usually damn tasty, a far sight stronger than your average 25/eighth stuff, and it costs $35-45 an eighth. i'll always choose a 45 dollar eighth over a fifty dollar eighth because in my experience that little difference in price represents a strong likelihood that i'll be getting dry pot of similar quality. it seems that most stuff i've seen like this must be really good genetics and well cared for, but grown on a large enough commercial scale to not prevent any seeds from developing on occasion, and to not develop each plant to its 100% full potential. but its good, and since its drier pot AND its less expensive, i feel i'm getting what i paid for when i buy this type rather than going for the nugs....) i think in some places "beasters" are bad pot, but at least in my neck of the woods its a good thing to have, but most people want nugs i'll buy the wet stuff if its all i can find, and these days i usually take what i can get because i dont have a regular hookup. but i always curse under my breath when i have to pay 50 bucks for something like that. i cant wait to have a house with a basement to grow in i really just dont want to invest the time or money in growing in an apartment i'll only live in for a few more months.
Weed is almost just like a fine wine...it gets better with age. If it's too terribly dry (turns to powder at the touch), rehydrate it then smoke it. I looooooove finding weed I had put somewhere then forgot about till months later. Talk about a great head high.
the only bad thing about overdried weed is that it will be harsh but here is a tip take a very small bagie (the size of a bowl)put the weed already crumbled inside with some honey with propolis inside>>>>(yes propolis is NEEDED without him pot will rot but with him he will get moldy if storaged for long time like months but the mold dont get inside the pot, this is tip to storage bricks of weed too propolis is an antiseptic)>>>>and wait one day next day will be less harsh will burn slower have a great taste and aroma ,you all can put some honey around the joints too for taste and aroma.
sucks to hear that a few of my bigger dealers would sell really dank wet weed for cheaper prices but i only bought it a few times because i hated it so much. dry (cured weed) is better in almost every way so i always try to make my dealer describe it before i buy it. and as for beasters they are overpopulated here i try to avoid them because they are always 45-50 and they are mostly moist with wierd smell, taste and very harsh and they never have seeds. ill just buy a eigth of some homegrown for 50 that is just average good weed.
Yeah I find it hilarious that people always want "dank" stuff when dank means moist and moist is really not what you want. The most knowledgeable weed smoker I've ever met sold me by far the best weed I've ever smoked, and it was extremely crumbly. He said that if the stem doesn't snap pretty easily, it hasn't been properly dried. It's true that it can be a little harsher, but I don't really care, I always smoke out of a bong anyway
