In my ideal world no-one would feel the need to come out at all. It's very few people's business whether you prefer muff or schlong, the way I see it is if people assume I'm straight just because I don't tell them otherwise, that's their problem, not mine. It'd be nice to live in a world where there's an etiquette to attraction and people know how to ask and how to say yes or no, and sexuality is a lot less of an issue. But while we keep having those ridiculous haircuts I guess we're not going to get there.
Ouch. Middle school, huh? That sucks. Just remember: after surviving middle school, you can survive anything. Don't let the bastards get you down!
Question: Why come out at all? If you consider sex as a very personal and a very private matter, nobody needs an announcement of it except the persons involved. My first sexual partnership spanned the last two years of high school; no outsider was aware of the relationship except for the friendship between us which was clear. To have made it public would have been foolish. Today, I am a happily married man. Folks see me with my wife, they know my children; but, what they do not know is my past homosexual relationship(s) nor do they know that in my ownself I am still very attracted to men and sometimes to other women as well. I do not cheat: I do not choose to reveal the fulness of my unique and complicated individual sexuality. I will praise love whether it be in homosexual or heterosexual committed relationship. I am committed to one long term partner at a time.
