Does anyone know what A&P and IRT are? They're mentioned in one of the songs in Hair. Also, by chance, anyone have any idea what Oriental Cricket Music or Medusan Chords are?
A&P was a grocery store that was everywhere at the time IRT was a train line that ran from the east coast to more central areas of the USA those others dont ring a bell right off gotta dig the strange lyrical symbolism of HAIR - plus its a great show!
you're right about the a&p (atlantic and pacific). at one time it was the largest food store chain in new york. but thte IRT still is a subway line that runs through in nyc...not a train line that goes out of it.
