It absolutely will be, if the world lasts for another few decades... the hypocrisy of keeping alcohol legal while prohibiting weed will continue to be more and more exposed, and since alcohol isn't going to be prohibited anytime soon, weed will enter the free market :)

No. Never. It's too good, and it can destroy civilizations, like the opium poppy. Once the mutherfreakin' shitheads even give it a thought, someone else "corrects" them very firmly. They are already on the trail of smokers (tobacco) and alcohol-users, and they sure aren't going to legalize pot anymore than they would Crank. Courts are already bitchin' about too many drug busts . . . .

I don't care if it's legal or not...it's more fun when you're younger when it's not.

Soon I hope. I think eventually people will realize how much crime could be eliminated by selling it like alcohol is sold.

It will be legal once this shitmound we call a government implodes on itself.

So I'd have to say within the next 5 year's or so, we'll be able to do whatever the feck we want.

It will be legal when then government realizes it kills less then alcohol

it will be legal when the government realizes we could be getting the money rather then the drug dealers, and the money that it takes to wage the drug war

it will be legal when the government realizes that we could have been getting the money since the 60's

it will be legal when people realize that cannabis doesn't destroy lives like oxycontin

it will be legal when the world realizes that we could smoke cannabis rather then shoot each other...

Doesnt it sound so incredible when we put ideas into simple concepts?

if medicinal use keeps increasing, id say we're well on the road to weed legalization. it'll probably take more than a few decades though. probably not gonna happen in my lifetime.

I've got serious doubt if legalization will happen as the result of often speculated gains in Tax revenue when one stops to think of all the gains made by the laws against it,

Those charged with distribution get all their assets stolen by the system and sold to further fund the campaign.

By creating the illusion of a problem they justify the budgets required to fight the problem which drain our national tax coffers, further justify a need for hiring more Sherrifs and D.E.A. agents and miscelaneous other types of footsoldiers to "Combat the devil weed" nation wide in their war against drugs.

In essence I think that while they would likely make a decent penny on taxation of the harmless herb, they would loose large hunks of their finances from the loss of their ill gotten gains via. auctions held to sell off the personal properties of those incarcerated, not to mention we would also have a huge drop in employment rates in the LEO sector as the demand for so many LEO's in the D.E.A. and the Prison systems which are currently deemed nessisary. So in essence, they would loose justification for claiming the large portions of our tax dollars they claim they need ontop of all the freebies they confiscate.
To compensate they would have to place insane taxes on pot, like hundreds of dollars an ounce to make up for their lost revenues and then these taxes would be in the Federal kittie, not so straighforwardly aimed for the coffers of the various LEO agencies.

Not saying the Cops and Guards are bad people themselves, it's really not much different form being an office worker in any other of the many corrupt corporations which litter our nation and drain us of our wealth by lowering wages or shipping our job's overseas, they've got families to feed too.

That is an absolutely retarded statement

not to mention your making an ass out of yourself.

Take it from someone who has been arrested 2 times at a young age from it
It does not make it more fun

    RETARD

It may, but the U.S. will not be a pioneer in this. The Netherlands started a motion, and it will take most of the rest of Europe following in legalization/decriminalization/tolerance (whatever you want to call it) and being studied before the U.S. considers it seriously.

If it's really important to you move to Europe and get them to legalize it there, then *maybe* the U.S. will say "Hey, well they did it and it doesn't seem to be that bad, so I guess we could do it here too".

i doubt it will ever be legal

HOWEVER, i reckon that it will probably be de-criminalised to the point the point that the police generally tolerate/ ignore it. which is basiacally legalisation, but that way governments don't lose too much face or be seen as making a U-turn on marijuana policy.
