What's some good road trip food?

Other than the usual munchie snacks like granola, nuts, cookies, fruit and veggies, sandwiches, etc. what are other good, healthy, not too perishable foods to eat on a road trip?

We'll be on the trip for about a month and a half and we're trying to minimize eating out; we'd rather go to the supermarket every week or so to pick stuff up to make.

Any other suggestions on good food, snacks, or saving money on food are welcome!!

I have been making hummus to take with me on road trips to be eaten as a dip with corn chips, bread, or veggies. I don't know how long it will keep, but mine has always lasted several days until I eat it all.

Use your engine to heat things up, me and my buddy would make cheese sandwiches, wrap them in foil and drop them down onto his type 3's pancake engine.

First learn which plants, mushrooms, fruits, roots etc you cannot eat- there aren`t too many. The rest is ok.
Sometimes I go behind a restaurant to ask the cook for something.
    Or go to farmers.
For that, late summer is the best time. Help the farmer (they always have work) for food.

Gas stations are usually pretty good (in my experience) about letting you use their microwaves, boiling water, and depending on what type of person is working, ice machine (for drinks not bagged).

Eggs or dried/fresh meat for protein, honey for energy, Fresh fruits and vegetables for vitamins and fresh food, I like real food, not processed junk or grains much unless it's offered, otherwise I don't buy any processed foods. Experimented with all that years back and it doesn't provide the same sort of nutrition as fresh fruits, berries, nuts, vegetables, eggs, fish, meat, jerky.
