I'm getting my nipples pierced tomorrow night. I'll be getting horizontal piercings with plain silver barbells.

Anbody that's BTDT got any tips for me? I have xylocaine jelly to put on beforehand and nipple shields to wear for a few days after while they're still sore. Anything else?

bactene is good to have. will prevent any infection. mine wasn't too sore after i got it done (only have one nipple done; the right one). i just put gauze over it for the first day and after that i was fine.
they take a LONG time to heal.. at least mine did. good luck!

Ouch indeed. I got one done and it hurt soo bad, but it does look interesting. Mine never fully healed so i took it out after 4 months. But sometimes bodys just reject peircings, so it probably won't happen to you. either way, get ready for severe pain, but enjoy.

sweet! i just took retired one of mine and the other is going soon. yes, it will hurt like nothing else lol! i got mine both done at the same time (well, one right after the other) and the second one hurt so much more. anyway, totaly post pics, id love to see how they look. i thought mine looked very sexy indeed, but i just want my boobs back to the way they were and i think they are more beautiful w/o the piercings. as far as atercare goes, i really would never use bactene. i just use tea tree soap and sea salt soaks. to each their own, but infections are not nearly as common as most are led to believe. anything goopy just attracts dirt and keeps it moist which is not good and chemicals will very often irritate piercings. anyway, heres a great forum with pro piercers and very knowlegable, helpful people- http://boards.tribalectic.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

Aahh! I'm getting pierced tonight and I'm so NERVOUS! I put xylocaine on my nipples and covered them with plastic wrap, so hopefully it won't hurt too much. I've heard they hurt a lot.

I got them! It hurt some, but nothing compared to my second genital piercings. It's true that the second nipple nurts worse than the first. They're stinging right now (it's been about half an hour) but not too badly. They look GREAT!

I won't be posting the pics I have. They're really dark and not very good. I'll get better ones done after the swelling goes down (they're slightly puffy, no biggie).

I asked for horizontal, but they ended up slanting inward very slightly. I don't mind, though, since they match and it adds a bit of personality. :D

Don't use bactine. Do some sea salt soaks twice a day and leave them alone the rest of the time. They will be tender and might bleed a tiny bit-thats normal! I found tank tops with the shelf bra inside were the most comfortable thing to wear in the beginning. Enjoy your piercings minkajane!

I have a special spray just for cleaning piercings - I forget the name of it. It's only been a few days and they don't hurt at all! The only time they hurt is when I hit them or when I move the jewelry to clean it. Don't worry, though, I know that they heal from the outside in and it will take a few months to heal totally.
