The Evolution of "God"

The vision of God changes with the people who believe in Him. Ideas, images, or personalities of God changes to teach and to keep people in line, as they evolve mentally and physically. No longer do we need a God standing on a mountain performing genocide on the "other" religion to fuel us into becoming better people. God has evolved (in our minds) from an all powerful merciless ruler to a loving, kind, and forgiving friend.
Besides, God is yours to interpret. It doesn't matter what anyone else believes, whether they're living or long dead, God is God.
