Pink Floyd w/ Syd Barrett Bob Marley Jimi Hendrix Pink Floyd w/o Syd Barrett (lets face it, they're two seperate bands) Eric Clapton those are just a couple, i can't think of any more i'm HOOKED on right now
yes definitely different but still awesome. Piper At the Gates of Dawn is a superb album and it's sound shaped later floyd albums. anyways early floyd is awesome. from syd to meddle (1971 ish) that sound is awesome. and i do love later floyd too but it is less psychedelic and less experimental. Animals is probably my favorite later floyd album, i just love the sound and feeling of it. JOn
i totally agree, after meddle the sound changed and was more prog rock but great psychedelic tracks like Careful With That Axe, Eugene, Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun, Saucerful Of Secrets, pretty much the entire Live at Pompeii set, man, so great. David Gilmour is awesome on those tracks, he's awesome at playing stuff like that. but he does let loose on some great solos in the later years of Pink Floyd. they're a great band at any stage, except i find their music started to lack after The Wall when they really weren't a BAND anymore, they were just some musicians writing songs, they had no more chemistry, which led to Waters' departure
