    hey
well long story short my best mates brother said he wants to grow weed with me inside in a fish tank at his house. hes let me grow weed there before just outside though.

anyway has anyone done this and can give me some pointers or does anyone have any ideas how it can be done?

he like his fish and wants fish in the aquarium aswell and said he will buy another aquarium and all the shit needed to set it up as long as i supply the seeds (which i have) and if i look after it (which i will)

Why not just sell the tank and then spend the money on some plastic pots?

    probably hydro,
he just wants to try it a see how it will pan out and to recieve some nice buds at the end of it like me.

the aim is for it to still also be used as a fish tank so i thought of maybe putting a fat clear pipe inside it and sealing it off with silicon on the base or something so the plant can grow in there without getting flooded with water...

to do hydro, you need light proof (opaque) containers. the light messes with the root systems, and algae can grow in the system then also. PEace....

too be honest i think ur way above ur head. growing hydro in a tank that has fish in it??????????????????????????????? if i wer you id just get a fish tank without fish in it put 3-4 inches of soil in it germinate ur seeds then plant 1-2cm under the soil. you could use a normal fish tank tube light ur seeds will grow fine for 2-3 weeks then id repot and plant outside so long as all risk of frost has gone. if you do it right outside you will have much bigger plants and therefor more harvest. ur plants wouldn't be able to fit in a fish tank fully sized anyway.

dude.. no biggy on the algae.. just use some oxygenated water to kill them once in a while.. or you can buy yourself an air pump with a sponge filter to take care of that.. as fo fishies.. would be nice.. they crap all over the place.. so food for plants should be no problem..
this could take longer to grow.. and not yeld a high potency bud.. but it should be fun as hell to actually do..

I ran across the idea of keeping live fish in the resevoir once before, it was called "aquaponics" I think - sounded interesting. But for some reason I never followed up and looked into it!
