a translation

Hi, could you help me out here? I am trying to say in German: Colours may be a bit different, due to the differences between computer screens.

(it's to warn people that a product photo may not be exactly the same colour as it appears ontheir screen).

This is what I have:
Farben können unterschiedlich erscheinen, da die Rechnerumgebungen das Aussehen von der Bildschirmen beeinflussen.

Is it correct? Suggestions?

 

I think for the most part your right. For some reason I want to say- Farben Konnen ein sein. Now you got me thinking and it hurts. j/k. I'm going to look in a german translater.

 

You could also try it that way:

Farben können auf verschiedenen Rechnern und Bildschirmen unterschiedlich erscheinen.

Or:

Auf unterschiedlichen Rechnern und Bildschirmen sind leichte Farbabweichungen möglich.

 

Oder:
Achtung: Es handelt sich zwar um Originalfotos, jedoch können die Farben bei unterschiedlichen Bildschirmen vom Original abweichen.

One more qustion: how would you translate the word "View"? Like in: view product details, or: view larger picture. My dictionary says 'begucken' and 'ansehen', but I have the impression that means more like you are going to study some object in front of you.

thanks Southernman... but I am afraid I stil don't know what to write when I have a link where the visitor can see more of something. The context is always: 'view item A' and the link always goes to a page with more details.

I must say that on German sites I can't really find examples. Most of the times it is indeed "produkt details" or something like that. Perhaps it is just not that common to say 'view...' on german sites? Just an idea, I might be wrong

 

Forget the "view", only a link called "Produkt Angaben" or "Details" or very german "Nähere Einzelheiten hier"

 

What's Einzelheiten?! (i do not consider using that one, but I am always keen to learn).
In some cases I think Zeige ... is a good word? It's not view, but more 'show' I guess. But most of the times I won't need it as much as we use it in Dutch and I will stick to the more simple "... Angaben".
