Asia is home to a diverse and interesting array of turtle species. Unfortunately many of these turtles are now threatened or endangered. One of the biggest problems these reptiles face is harvesting for food. Turtles are harvested more then any other reptile. Over 30 million turtles are harvested ever year in Asia alone for the food industry! This harvesting from the wild has devastating effects on the natural populations of turtles.
