i posted this in "remember when" http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=227641 because it was both the end of an era & s new beginning but felt it needed to be here as well. about a year ago i made a thread about urban gurrila gardening & how it can transform the most dangerouse neighbourhoods into the safest "islands of serenity" i'd like to challange more of you urban gardeners to seek out spots that need lil bit of love & plant a few seeds & see what grows you might plant a flower...but grow a community
I believe that quite a lot of this has gone on in London! It is such a great idea. Destructive energy put into constructive energy! If I lived in the city I'd be up for this.... I live 4 hours from the nearest one!! Howz the traveling van going ??
This is an ace idea, think I seen a tv programme about the guerilla gardeners in London. They give roundabout makeovers in the middle of the nioght...sounds like fun
i hadnt visited this thread in a good long time and i'm getting ready to move a couple thousand miles and maybe look for a new spot to do a new lot but if anyone anywhere wants to talk about maybe doing 1 wherever u find a spot that needs 1 get ahold of me we had like 8 years of just the most incredible gardening experience.. i mean it was dead center crackville but it became a spot u could hang out at at 4 am completely safe and peaceful quite a few ppl camped at the garden helpin out for months... i guess a few tons of free produce really helped a hurtin community a ton... if i can find a lot somewhere where im headed would love any seeds any1 wants to send unfortunately dont think im gonna stay there more then 6 months to a year so can only get it started and hope ppl there keep it up.. hmm might hafta wait till fall when im more permenantly settled and can do it right and do it big... (well depends how the year plays out might actualy end up being a few smaler ones all over the place..heehee
Hey, where you heading? I'm thinking of starting a "guerrilla" garden if you're in South Florida we could hook up. Since I really don't know anything about gardening I'd love some help.
