He blows me away on his solo album's The Wheel and on CSN&Y's Teach Your Children, but I'm not familiar with what Grateful Dead songs he plays the pedal steel guitar on. Calling all deadheads, please help me with this one.

I think Jerry played pedal steel on studio versions of High Time, New Speedway Boogie, Ripple and maybe Trukin'.

He also played pedal steel on:

Jefferson Airplane, Voluteers, on the track The Farm
David Crosby, If Only I Could Remember My Name, on various tracks
Graham Nash, Songs for Beginners, on various tracks
Stephen STills, II, on the track Change Partners
    NRPS, NRPS (1971)
James and The Good Brothers, James and The Good Brothers (1971) maybe a couple of tracks
Graham Nash & David Crosby (1972), on the track Southbound Train.

    Go Jerry.

I did a little research. He also contributed the pedal steel guitar to Brewer & Shipley’s Oh Mommy and on Have you seen the Stars Tonight on Paul Kantner’s album Blows Against the Empire.

Despite routinely ranking high in player polls, he considering himself a novice on the pedal steel and had all but given up the instrument by 1973. Perhaps other musicians might have played it better, but the measure of a musician isn’t just in how well they play an instrument but in the music they create. After a long lapse, Jerry played it once more when Bob Dylan toured with the Grateful Dead in 1987.
