Never have I experienced a stimulant like Concerta. Generally, stimulants boost my mood and ego, and encourage my social skills to bloom. This particular substance has done nothing but put me on edge, and cause me to decline conversation with basically everyone I can. What the fuck?! Yes, it still combats my hyperactivity, as I noticed myself in class today sitting perfectly still with my hands folded neatly on the table. This is a somewhat epic achievement for me, as I usually drum on anything within reach. To my peers I must have looked akwardly professional. To get down to brass tacks, this shit is downright strange. One of the greatest appeals to stimulants, for me, is the heightened interest in... well, my interests. Music especially has always sounded better, and more meaningful with the aid of uppers. Concerta leaves me with interest in absolutely nothing. Music becomes nothing more than background noise. Though I can concentrate on the daily focus minded tasks that usually seem difficult, I find myself working in a trance without a clue as to what I am actually doing, let alone what I actually care about. Concerta turns me into a robot. I perform the jobs I need to, but not because I want to. Most of the time I don't even realize I am doing them. I feel like a puppet. I am dull, my wits are dim, and I am clearly not myself. "How am I not myself?" Why is this particular stimulant so different from others? Adderall allows me to focus while skyrocketing my self esteem, and life becomes perfectly enjoyable. This Concerta garbage makes nothing pleasant and induces such a strong introspective state that I question myself in a very counterproductive way (note that I am usually a fairly confident person). Can anyone here relate to this feeling from Concerta, or is this an archetype example of how drugs affect every user in a different manner? Never again will I take a pill (or a few) that gives me a coke comedown for twelve hours. Yuck. Any feedback is appreciated, thanks.
