My car started showing signs of an impending timing belt failure. I had been putzing around barefoot all day. I jumped into the car and took it to the dealer and signed it in. It was then I realized I had nothing for my feet. No shuttle service was available and the bus doesn't run to where I live, so off I went. Shorts, cutoff shirt and that's it. I made the six miles without stepping on anything sharp and it really felt great. It was about 68 degrees but the pavement was a little chilly. Got a few strange looks and a strange looking guy tried to pick me up but I hung in there and barefooted all the way home.

Sounds like me when I had a car. I would just smile at them and keep on walking.

I'm at my brother's house right now in CO....he forces everyone to take shoes off when they come into his house. Shoes are NOT allowed on the floor....easier to keep floors clean this way.

You inspired me...I had to take my car in for service today, so I left my flipflops at home and drove to the dealer barefoot. A couple weird looks from the service guys, but that was it (this is a beach town, after all). Walked home about two and a half miles barefoot, and walked back barefoot when it was time to pick it up. Felt great, and my soles were really black by the time I got there, probably from walking on the blacktop whenever I could. Altogether, a totally awesome barefoot day!

The skin on the bottom of your feet is constantly being replaced, so permanent stains are unlikely. I've found with a good, stiff brush and lots of "elbow grease", even the worst of stains will come clean fairly easily.

yesterday it was about 70 deg. outside all day I got off work about 7pm and drove home as usual after my wife went to bed (she works opposite my shift) I decided to walk to the gas station thats about 1/2 mile or so down the road

so I go outside and to my shock its about 50 deg. and raining (so lots of puddles everywhere)
so I walked barefoot all the way there and back no problem (ok so i was a bit cold by the time I got back home and my feet were numb) luckly they were still open when i got there and the cleark didn't say a word to me (other than the usual stuff)

today it snowed all day about a foot total :p

this year i plan on walking about a mile a day barefoot out doors I am making it a point to get my feet back into shape, last year i waited too long and had issues walking 2 miles when my car ran out of gas

my feet have gotten too soft even tho I have been going bearfoot as much as I can this winter its been such an arctic cold winter this year

I love going barefoot when its warm out and I plan on having this be the year Ican do that painless( with thicker soles than I have ever had years passed )
