It always looks great when a dog runs to them and starts licking up the brain tissue.

I love how Kodak managed to get their slogan into everyday speech.... amazing marketing.

Yeah, I hear you on that... That sort of thing annoys me, plus the direction deal.
If people would do the whole trail/path deal, it wouldn't be so bad either, but generally, that's a matter of encouraging local gov't or park service.

You don't see any of the hauling ass the wrong way up the street/running stopsigns, around here, because I live in a growing, pseudo-rural bedroom community, plus I'm mostly a trail/offroad and path/sidewalk rider.

Actually, I generally stay within view of their mirror, yet in front of the car behind them, if I ever am in traffic on bike, but I've ridden enough in what time I've had, so far, to be aware enough about those sort of things.

To be honest, I'm not one to advocate licensing and things, because there are younger kids who ride bikes around and if we did that, the rest of the lazy assholes in this country would never get on a bike or go hiking, if we licensed walking, either, as I've seen a lot of people walking that get hit. Some roads are just too damn crowded for bikes, plain and simple, but I'm the kind of person who will drive somewhere with a bike on my car, park in a public area, and ride the bike around town all day, or on a trail or wherever. It saves gas, good exercise, it's scenic, something to do. I like to go to the blue ridge and just ride around from time to time.

But I don't really represent roadbike riders, even though I use a roadbike for riding around Yorktown, Williamsburg, Fredericksburg, VA Beach and other placesd like that around VA. I'd ride around Charlottesville, but that's a nicer town to hike through. I haven't really done some heavy hiking since last Summer, but I got a new state trail guide this year for VA and NC. I like to ride from hamlet to hamlet on Hatteras Island or Ocracoke (they have paths there), and Emerald Isle, in North Carolina, but I haven't done that in some time. I actually had firecrackers thrown at me by, what looked like a bunch of drunk frat boys in one of those old diesel K5 Chevy Blazers, once, and I had to go to the hospital and get stitches. Twas in Rodanthe, NC, on Hatteras.

I do have to say that I commend the people who at least get on a bike, since most Americans don't seem to do anything concerning life, at all. -- I had a guy on a trail say that to me today, while he was helping with an old semi-working bike rack. (He was like... one of those die-hard old hodad surfbum outdoor types who knew anything related to biking/hiking, etc. because they had been there when shit happened. Haha, I love meeting old guys like that and hearing or sharing a story)

i would say that anyone riding WITHIN the flow of traffic has no room to complain if they break the law and get all fucked up for it. i'm used to watching out for bike riders, since there's so many of them in town, but some of those assholes are so OUTRAGEOUS that i want to hit them.

Well, I think it's generally the people in cars that are the outrageous ones (some people don't give a shit till they do hit somebody or have a close call, as as a lot of novice cyclists or transporters don't think), though in this town, trucks are more abundant, and for some reason, more people seem to drive trucks in Virginia than North Carolina, I suppose since it's more Republican, or Military oriented, rather, for so long.

listen, a little common sense goes a long way. you're never going to win a fight with a motor vehicle. the cyclists around here are in two very distinct groups: professional and fcuking death wishers. i think they need to be ticketed and dealt with the same way reckless drivers of cars are.

it's YOUR movement, man, not mine. you want the rest of the assholes in the world to treat your cause with respect, teach your fellow riders to treat traffic laws with respect.

You know what, just fuck it, because I'm not even going to bother.

Godforsaken mass of nothing. That's all it is.
