Lucid Dreaming Tips/Help/Experiences

    I've been trying to reach a state of lucidity in my dreams. I'm finding, however, that "trying" is the worst thing one can do. Every time I "try" to reach a lucidity in my dreamstate, I fail miserably. I've been trying a few new things, however, such as letting my body fall asleep before my mind, which is an interesting process. Unfortunately, I can't seem to break into a dreamscape, I simply feel detached. I've gotten close, to the point where I can begin to see hypnagogic (sp?) images and the like, but I can't actually interact with them. What tips or help could anyone give in order to help someone reach a lucid state in their dreams? What experiences have people had with certain techniques? And furthermore, what kinds of things have people found to help them retain their ability to reach lucidity on a regular basis?

    I've only recently started trying, and I'm about 20% success rate. First off, no drugs the night you're gonna try. Here is what I do.

    Set an alarm to go off about 4 hours before you wake up in the morning, this is your deepest dream state. Wake up, turn off the alarm, close your eyes, and telll yourself that you're dreaming over and over. Picture your bed spinning. You should enter you dream with full knowledge your dreaming, and do whatever you want.

    Sometimes just becoming aware you're dreaming helps. If something is fishy, here is how to tell.
    Tips to know if you;re dreaming:
    Plug your nose, and try to breath through it, if you can do this, you're dreaming
    Close one eye. If you can't see your nose with the other eye, you're dreaming
    Look at text, look away and look again. If you're dreaming, it likley changed.

    Its not easy to lucid dream, but keep trying, its worth it.

    I've had minor success, and I've read up on two sites about lucid dreaming and reaching a state of lucidity while dreaming. But sometimes, an instruction manual just doesn't cut it.


    I'm going to have to try the spinning bed thing. WBTB is a technique I haven't tried all the way yet. I should surely give it a go, though. Has anyone had any experiences after using melatonin and vitamin B-6?

    Never heard of it. Like I said, I'm a lucid noob. I've had 2 so far. One lasted 3mins or so, untilI woke up from my alarm. The second wasn't what I expected, I could not fly, or transport. But I was in Italy, and I could run really fast, and jump really high and far without getting tired. It was a real rush.

    it's weird for me because i can normally figure out i'm dreaming real quick in my dreams, don't know how to explain. but hey, when i do know i'm in a midst of a dream, i tend to be a little bit of a slut and screw anybody i can. weird, i know. but it's fun! =)

    The intake of drugs is suppose to make the experience more difficult to achieve, why I don't know. I can still do it though, you should be in complete darkness and silence

    Regular Lucid dreamers say doing it while high is dangerous, and can bring negative spirits.

    I just had my first controlled lucid dream.


    I would definitely say that the method where one wakes up after 4-6 hours of sleep and stays awake for about 45 minutes and then goes back to sleep is definitely the most effective.

    I've actually heard that light can potentially help achieve lucid dreams easier. There's another technique I discussed with someone not to long ago where they overload their eyes with light during their 45 minutes of consciousness (I.E. they wake up, and stand outside for this duration if the sun's out and open their eyes as wide as possible, no looking directly into light, of course...). I'll be giving that a try, though.

    Also, by order of intensity and meditative interest, the method where one lays perfectly still and allows their body to hibernate while they remain conscious is a very interesting experience. I haven't had the patience to see the entire process through, though.

    Drugs... Dxm and hash is like lucid dream by my experience... Then Meklotzin helps it little bit...

    But this is my tip NUMBER one! It makes 100 % for me, and it can be used with Lucids, Obes, Astral projections, Shamanic trances etc etc...

    1. In the night try to keep yourself wake as it possible... And wake up in early in the morning...
    2. Then in the second night do the same, but think all the time what will happen when you fall asleep...

    Why this works?
    It works because your body is getting to sleep quite fast and your mind will be awaken... Your mind dosen't fall asleep so fast...

    But it is kind of stupid to be awaken for almost two nights why should i use this method?
    When you have done this enough you will learn how to do it without being awake for two nights...

    i dont mean to rub salt in your wounds but i think i have been able to do this since my teens. ive always been a very strange sleeper. but in my dreams i am able to to control where abouts in the dream i go if you know what i mean?? i dont choose the dream but how i act in the dream is completley up to me. ive managed to fly in my dreams once but only the once.

    All I know is if you want to dream at all turn off the stereo.
