Warning!! This post is full of vanity.

Ok so I've been dying my hair since I was 13, and for the past five or so years it's been dark brown/black. My natural colour is blonde. I've gotten my hair bleached a few times in the past and both times I swore I'd never go back to dying it but obviously I did. Now I wanna go back to my natural colour coz it's just too big a pain in the ass to keep dying the hair all the time. I reeeeally don't wanna bleach my hair again coz bleach is evil and makes your hair to hate you. So lately, I've been thinking (quite seriously) about shaving my head and letting my hair grow back in its natural colour. The only problem is that I don't think I could pull off the baldness/short hair coz my head just isn't the right shape and my cheeks are too chubby, haha. So I've been thinking about just getting a wig and wearing that for a few months until my own hair has grown enough. :D I'm soooo tempted to do it and keep eyeing the razor... but every time I chicken out coz I keep thinking how long it will take for my hair to grow as long as it is now. :&

SO... now it's up to you lovely peeps to encourage me to do it! :D

I'd shave my head but I have way too many scars from such things as rock fights, surfboard fins, and falling out of trees as a kid.

do it.. i, at one point, had a buzzcut with long bangs... sure i was 15.. but it felt good. i loved when it was growing out. i'm sure one of these days i'll do it again.

i think you'd be beautiful with any hair style.. i'm sure most would agree

Shave it and don't wear a wig. Be happy with a bold head... feel the breeze on your head for the first time in your life :D

I say go for it. Your hair will grow back nice and healthy, no artifical dyes, any of that junk.

I used to bleach my hair platinum blonde. I'm talking almost white. After several years of it, I began to hate it because it was absolutely killing my hair, and the upkeep was just too much work for me. I went to see a really good professional hair dresser, told him that I wanted to dye my hair back to my natural color, and he advised me to just let it grow out. I listened to him for a while, but then I hated the whole dark roots growing out look, so I dyed my hair at home a darker shade and never touched it again.

Now, the most I do is use that Shine Happy treatment by Natural Instincts, it's just a clear glaze, makes your hair really shiney. [IMG] Sometimes I'll get daring and pick up a box of that temporary hair color, you know, the kind that washes out in 28 shampoos? But no permanent stuff, I don't want to have to fuss with my hair too much.

Anyway, yeah, either let it grow out or take it all off!

why don't you just get a trim and let the dye grow out? that's what i would do anyways, but it's really up to you! :D

    Boogabaah, thanks. :&

Rubin, I would but a friend of mine once told me that I'd look like a scary lesbian if I was bald and I'm still a little bit traumatized by that comment. :D

Ganja, I'm full of surprises. ;)

HCM, that's exactly what I want, healthy and natural and also that I'll never have to touch hair dye ever again!

Katyismename, the thing is that if I did that I'd look like I was balding! Blonde roots look silly (in my opinion) when the rest of the hair is black. So unfortunately that's not really and option. :(

id just cut your hair quite short and bleach what's there. like two inches long type short. or let it grow in after cutting it super short. i had the lbonde roots thing when i dyed my hair and yeah it looks like your balding for a little while but within a month itll look like roots again

    uh yeah, you're gorgeous duh!
so obviously you can pull anything off :D
shave it if you have the balls, i personally wouldn't be able to do it, but i think you'd look awesome
go with your gut and don't think too much about it, once you start thinking and doubting thats when you'll run into problems
    go for it hun!! :D

Do it... But make sure you think about it for at least a week beforehand that way you are more certain it's what you really want to do.

Hmmmm maybe... and I could always hide the "baldness" by wearing a scarf which I do a lot anyway... Uhhh decisions, decisions.

What about using a semi-permanent dye in the same color of your permanently dyed hair on your blonde roots until they grow out long enough for you to feel comfortable? When your blonde roots are long enough on their own then you can just stop using the semi-permanent dye (it will all fade out after a little while) and cut off the permanently dyed part. It would be more gradual, but it would also be less damaging than bleaching or continuing to use the permanent dye.

Just giving you another option. But shave your head if you want to! You're young, you've got a pretty face, and hair grows back relatively fast.

I want to see you naturally blonde. That would be hot! As for shaving your head? If would be fun to see updates as your hair grows back :) I shave my head everyday with a razor.

i say do it. you're hot, you could pull it off. you have a very feminine face. my friend actually just shaved her head. all these people bet her (like 5 years ago) that she wouldnt do it, but she always said she would when she was 22 and a day old. she loves it!
