There has been a lot of talk in Uk's medical and scientific community about how wrong Britain's current drug classification is. Obviously scientists and doctors would find a lot of nonsense in government drug policy.......since it's mostly based on America's racist, ageist, and fascist drug laws that eventually spread throughout the world thanks to the UN. Here are examples of articles describing what is going on in the UK; http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/6474053.stm?ls http://bbsnews.net/article.php/20070323224717102 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/connected/main.jhtml?xml=/connected/2007/03/23/nalcohol123.xml And there is even a website where doctors and scientists want people to fill out surveys on what they believe the drug life should look like in the UK (I suggest all pro- cannabis/drug Brits fill this out); http://www.drugsfutures.org.uk/ Is there a good chance marijuana and drug laws will change in Britain soon since scientists and doctors are getting very outspoken about it now! Probably when Bush's puphet Tony Blair leaves office things will change but who knows this might even come sooner. This probably won't lead to the end of drug prohibition.......but at least the classification will be more sane. For example hopefully this will make cannabis, psychedelics like LSD, and MDMA (x) legal since they produce far less harm than tobacco and alcohol (which has been attacked a lot by the medical and scientific community in Britain). I thought they should have included caffeine too, since it is more harmful than cannabis, but oh well. And if laws change in the UK, this can definitely start a chain-reaction throughout the world (or at least Europe). The UK probably has the second most influence on drug policy after the US, and could perhaps get the UN to change their stances. What do you think?
NOPE...i heard on the news the home offices reply to the drug reclassification suggestion. they said that they're going to basically ignore it and just spend more money on education etc.(i dont get how they dont realise drug prohibition doesnt work) hopefully however the way it has been brought to the publics attention should make it more of an issue...we can only hope...x
