name them off..i love horror movies and i havent seen one yet to really scare the shit out of me. i mean SCARY not GORY, theres a difference.
I can't think of a single movie which scared me from beginning to end, but there are particular scenes in movies such as the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Exorcist, Alien (The chest burster scene), Hellraiser, Friday the 13th, and Halloween which were absolutely terrifying Hotwater
cemetary man - its an italian horror flick from the late 90s, but in english. It has creepy on all levels, the premise is that the new keeper of the cemetary finds out the town has this massive vampire problem but the city leaders dont believe him. It has a great love story to it, with some real twists, and can get gory at times. However, it blew me away, and was way better than most any other horror Ive seen done in the past few decades. check it out!
Gremlins is hands down the scariest movie I have ever seen. It still haunts me! Also The Truman Show scared the shit out of me!
Cemetery man, though it may be a GREAT fucking movie, its definatly not scary... it wasnt even meant to be.
Definetly Dark Ride. I saw it at Horrorfest this year. Definetly gruesome, and disgusting. I got all lightheaded and almost threw up during it.
i feel cemetery man IS scary - how can you consider a severed, decomposing talking head not scary? creepy, perhaps? i'm fond of the original Nosferatu, the Cabinet of Dr. Caligari and Hellraisers I and II (best viewed back to back) to me, the best horror is mental, not visual
I'm not quite sure on the name of the movie, but now everytime I open the door to the bathroom at night, I think something dead is going to fall on me or something.... or when I go swimming at night I think something is gonna pull me under the water.
Yea definatly candyman... Cemetery man was NOT scary, its really funny and more of a fun charecter study, you just follow francesco as he tries to escape from his life and how that makes his world fall apart.
No movie has ever really scared me.. well now nothing but when I was young, I was scared of chucky. You know that doll from the movie ''Child's play''.
One of the scariest movies I saw was the original "Night of the Living Dead" Scared the shit out of me! Jeepers Creepers is another good one. And any Bigfoot film. Watch these movies and then go camping out in the rocky mtns. around midnight in the woods at your campsite you'll get the creeps! I was scared shit of Bigfoot coming to get me, the mothman, vampires and zombies all coming out of the woods! Any original (Bella Lugosi) vampire flick still scares the shit out of me! Bustramp
Candyman? Candyman is scary but cemetary man isnt? I dont see that at all, candyman was a cheesey moderate slasher flick even when seen on the big screen. I wouldnt rank Candyman in the top 100 horror films, maybe not even the top 100 slasher flicks. As for Cemetary Man... I dont see how a guy who deals with his undead problem with firearms, castrates himself, has a mute sidekick who steals undead heads as girlfriends, and gets whacked with a shovel can be seen as non-scary! Not to mention noone believes him, the love interest keeps reincarnating, and the only sympathetic ear is a voice on the phone that noone sees in the picture. It has all the elements of great horror, and managed to win awards at Cannes, which not many horror films can boast. to each his own, but basic gore and slash films rarely interest me. Cemetary Man was deeper in plot and had all the makings of good horror for me!
Candyman was FAR from your typical cheesy, mediocore slasher flick. The writing was brilliant and innovative. The musical score by Philip Glass, as eirie and beautiful as it may be, is only topped by the on location scenes at cabrini green. A decent backstory, and a solid performance by Todd, it was a great fucking film. Cemetery Man, as overthe top and a gory as it may be, isnt trying to scare you, or disturb you, but tell the tale of two guys living together, who have grown to love being with the dead more than the living. Both movies are in my top 10 horror films of all time, and yes, Cemetery man is ahead of Candyman, but it definatly is not scarier.
I dont know but SE7EN scared the shit out of me a lot and the retarded local theatre refuses to play Zodiac (which is by the same director) and you should definitely commit to seeing it. although there wasnt constant horror there were some intense scenes. good luck on your movie search
