am i for the christ or the goddess?
that is a question i've been asking myself recently...
see, i was raised as one of jehovah's witnesses but i practiced wicca in secret for three years...
until recently, though, i haven't severed all physical and emotional ties... i fell in love with a man that claims no faith or religion... something my mother and grandmother don't approve of...
the problem, though, is that i'm having a bit of a crisis of faith...
see, as a witness, i am seen as a sinner for wanting to search beyond my fold for what i feel is truthful...
but as a wiccan, i feel like i can incorporate almost any good and positve ideals into my life in order to keep it good and positive...
    therein lies more confusion...
in wanting to keep all that is good and positive, i also feel that the core message of christ was one of world unity and goodwill toward all... not the message it has become today... and should therefore be considered in my efforts to remain good and positive...
but with all that i believe in my heart, there are too many views that are complete opposites of each other and it sort of makes me feel guilty for having all of the views i do...
    can anyone give any advice?
    thanks...
    peace,
    ~roni~

That's what I'd call a pretty polarized situation.

The ideas of Wicca and the JW's are really quite opposite in many ways.
In the end, only you can decide what to do. But I'll just say this - many people have been brought up in various kinds of religious backgrounds - catholics, evangelicals, JW's and so on. For some people, that's what they stick to all their lives, and they don't really question it.
Others do question, and I suggest that you are clearly among their number, as otherwise, if the JW teachings satisfied you, why did you begin to look to Wicca?

Jesus may have wanted to bring world peace - some say not. Either way, his followers over the ages haven't been very peaceful, and the idea that one day, the whole world will unite under christianity of any type is just ridiculous.
If you are a good person with good intentions, that's enough. You don't need to attribute all that to jesus - it's just there in people.

    blessings.

that's the thing, being a witness never satisfied me...
my grandmother used as a weapon on my mother which caused her to be unpassionate about it but afraid to leave since it's all she knows...
and that's all she passed to me "it's true because it has to be. it's all i know."
but in later years, she too used it as a weapon like her mother did to her...

As I see it, the question you would be well served to ask yourself is which is most important, the person of Jesus, and the belief in his divinity, or the teachings of Jesus, and what they mean in how you live your life.

If the idea of Jesus as a divine, personal savior has more weight for you, then your path is probably best walked via some form of Christianity. If, however, the message is what matters, then you can still live it without needing to embrace the external trappings of Christianity.

As an apostate Roman Catholic, Pagan mystic, I still like to believe, and with some cause, that I live a very "Christian" lifestyle, at least when it comes to abiding in love, the golden rule, and reaping what I sow. One thing that 12 years of Christian education taught me is that Jesus was a maverick, whose message was to follow the spirit of love, justice, and compassion, rather than the letter of the law. "He who abides in love, abides in God, and God in him." Kind of says it all, for me. You can abide in love whatever faith you profess, for Christians do not have a monopoly here. Sadly, often the opposite.

I wish you peace in your journey, no matter which road you choose to walk.

No one can truly tell you how to walk your spiritual path but yourself. Follow your heart and that's all you can really do. Each and every faith is true to the person practicing it, we manifest our own reality. Don't worry what others think of you, this is your own life live it how you please. If your parents dissapprove its their issue to deal with it, not yours.

I'd pick Jesus and The Goddess and anyone else who feels right to you, find your own path. They are all divine just not always 'their' houses

    God bless

There was such a thing as Gnostic Christianity. While I don't do Christianity in any form, if I had to be a Christian, this would be it.

It was sort of a combination of Christianity and the mystery religons. You could do worse.

if being a witness never satisfied you, then maybe it's wrong for you. when i was younger,i always thought that jesus was right there watching us but we just couln't really ummm talk to him even though he standing next to me and watching me ya know. and where is he when i try to sell my soul to the devil. ive never had divine visions like some people claim to have. haha it's all kind of silly to me now, but when i was hot pursuit of salvation, it made perfect sense.

    also, try zoroastrianism

i would not get caught up in any religion or their dogmatic practices and beliefs. take away everything anyonees told you about spirituality. rest a bit. explore your insides, and fing out who it is you are and what it is you believe. then go from there.

Excellent advice. It sounds like you have some conflicting beliefs, perhaps it is time to clean out your filters of perception and rebuild from the ground up. Start with what you know. Then get to know yourself.

You can't - it's hereditary. You have to be born a parsee - they don't accept converts.
