okay my friend is totally obsessed with animal cruelty, of course it's all good but sometimes i think she goes too far. For example, a few months ago she brought this seal hunt petition thing to school and asked people to sign it. Well, one guy refused to sign it. He said that this is stupid and that the people do it for a living, because they can't grow potatoes or anything, and besides, that's what they've been doing for hundreds of years. My friend got so angry and she started yelling at him and saying how it's cruel to kill innocent animals and tey should stop doing it. Now she hates the guy So anyway, one time after that i was talking to her about the petition and i told her: Yea, i agree with you, they should at least stop killing baby seals, and be more humane when hunting for the old ones, like put them to sleep or something so they don't feel the pain of their fur getting ripped off. My friend got even more angry at me and started yelling I CAN"T BELIEVE YOU JUST SAID THAT! I AM NOT GOING TO LOOK AT YOU THE SAME WAY AGAIN! THEY SHOULD STOP THE SEAL HUNT FOREVER! I didn't want to continue the fight, so i just left. But here is what I think: aren't humans more important than animals? Sure, we can try being less cruel towards the animals, but i don't think the seal hunt is ever going to stop!
you guys are what, 14 or so? just tell her you respect her opinons and efforts but you also need to have your opnion respected and not be attacked about not agreeing with her 100% and maybe not bring up this stuff if you can avoid it since it seems like a touchy subject for her
i need to start watching the news, i love the seal hunt coverage, whiny little celebrities trying to get their way. i went as far as getting a shirt that says "i club my baby seal"
Slap her with a piece of steak, thats what i did when i got atttacked by Vaginatarians slap em with meat and they turn to dust, also a lil Olive oil and garlic salt mixed with a bit of parsley often gets the job done in a delicious way
Why would humans be more important? I agree with Lucky all the way on that one. I go to class everyday and learn about all the animals that humans have hunted to extinction, it's very depressing and I would hate to see seals become one of those statistics.
Your friend sounds passionate about something she believes in, maybe she was going a bit far, but it's nice that she cares about something.
i think there is way too much hype surrounding the seal hunt. the only reason people are so insane about it is because theyre so cute and fuzzy. why is the seal fur industry so much more objectionable than, for example, the beef industry? at least the little seals dont live in revolting conditions and suffer for their entire lives until theyre brutally killed, like cows do. or chickens or pigs. seals are just more important because theyre cuter.
Oh, but why would it be sad.. I mean, come on now... they are just SEALS... it's not like they are human or important or anything.
