Which "part" of Alice in Wonderland do you prefer? I think I'm more of a Through the Looking Glass person, even though I think it's a little harder to understand. How about the rest of you guys?

Man I loved both but I'll go with Alice in Wonderland, the characters are fucking classic.

i read alice's adventures in wonderland obsessively until i was finished. through the looking glass, i prefer to read in small chunks and reread what i've already read. i think i like through the looking glass a little more. the queen who lives backwards, humpty dumpty, the part about the egg and the boat and the gnat... tweedle dee and tweedle dum... it makes me want to be a mind rapist all the time. but i love the tea party in the first book. i like how they talk about time and muchness.

i thought they were both great, and very funny. I chose Through the Looking Glass as my favorite though. It was more fun. I loved the idea much more.

Though I'll say after having been obsessed with the Disney movie version since i was in the womb, it was hard for me to get through the book. (which was only less than a year ago) I kept picturing the movie scenes and expected certain parts to come at specific times and was suprised by new parts (ie- the baby). Still a great book, but i wish i would have been able to read it before becoming infatuated with the Disney movie.

I prefer Looking Glass, for two reasons: 1.)It seems that everything you remember in Wonderland actually happened in Looking Glass, and b.)Jabberwocky(need I say more?).

I collect Alice Editions. I've got a version with Carrol's original illustrations, one with Tenniels, a Looking Glass with Peakes, and then "The Annonated Alice". That's only four books in total, but I only decided to collect them about two weeks ago. I'll be getting Wonderland with Peakes illustrations, and anothr book with Arthur Rackhams illustrations this week. I'm really looking forward to that one.

I'm definitely a Through the Looking Glass person. I like it because it has the same child-like wonder and fantasy that Alice's Adventures in Wonderland has but it's just a bit more mature and I relate to the characters a bit better. And, of course, nothing beats the Jabberwocky.

if you like alice in wonderland and through the looking glass you should get the annotated alice. its both books filled with footnotes about the origins and inspirations that created the book. it explains alot of puns that were lost due to our difference in time period. it's really really cool

I read them as one, so I really can't distinguish. I enjoy them best read aloud, as it was meant to be. :)
Actually has anyone heard of an audio book version? I usually just read it aloud to myself.

    I love Lewis Caroll
he has written amazing literary nonsense.
i like through the looking glass better it just makes less sense.
Carrolls whole life is amazing i recommend to the alice in wonderland books you also read his game logic books and his biography
