so i noticed this dude had coments in quite a few of my friends guestbooks. curius me i looked him up. then i thought "i'll go an look up the kids posts and see what he thinks about things . . .." so i look him up. he's got 120 posts, 119 of them are in the forum "introduce yourself" one was in another forum where he was introducing himself . . .. eh, just thought it was funny so i would share. but does this mean that now i stalked a guy?

Yes, you're a horrible, horrible stalker and should be thrown in jail for life.

    So, what's this guys name?

Actually it looks more like this guy is the one doing the stalking. Although we do have a few members who hang out in the Introduce Yourself forum, most members go elsewhere quickly. You should actually report someone like that, just so we can be sure he's not stalking newbies here.

Stalking would be obsessively following someone around the site, PMing them, posting after them (unless they're trying to hide while stalking). He could also be sending them spam.

Most stalkers prefer chatrooms or IM. They don't like posting up public messages.

We have a rule against stalkers, and it doesn't have to be sexual stalking either. Sometimes people get obsessed with members and constantly reply to their posts publically, either to get a rise out of them or to counter their posts.

This becomes a problem when it is excessive. Anyone can like replying to another's posts, but when you can't post ANYTHING without that person posting a reply then it becomes suspicious.

You can report anything you think is suspicious. But unless it clearly violates a forum guideline, we're not likely to do anything about it. All reports are viewed only by moderators and not made public.

These forums are for the most part self-policing. Our mods can't possibly view every thread, much less every post. So our members must take affirmative action to keep the site free of spam, stalkers and those who personally attack our members.

hmmmm, I think what you did was called "investigating".

I am the chief investigator around these parts.
