So its almost been 2 month now that i have been locking my hair and i got some decent looking knots...So i thought. I rarely neh never touch my my hair but on sunday i took a shower to clean my hair. After showering i was letting my hair dry and i reached up to feel some of the locks and thay felt gooey. It was wet wax!! I thought i got it all out because i have been washing my head with realy hot water hoping that it would melt off but that doesnt seem to be the case. i found out that all the decent looking knots werent even knots at all thay were just lumps of shit. Most of my backcomed hair fell apart and thats the wax free zones witch is kool because i dont want organized looking dreads i want them to be themselves yada yada yada... SOOOO my question is what can i do to get all of the wax out and ensure clean dreads? P.S. i also need the sea salt, lemon, water mixture portions so i can make me some of dat yo lol Thanks and peace:sombrero:
Ok, I've been thru here a few times and no one has answered yet, so i will give it my best shot. Keep washing, wash til there is no more sticky goo and then wash some more, get it all out. Once it's all out your hair will start knotting if you leave it be, or you could back comb if you choose. I don't know your background, so I'm not sure if the wax was self inflicted or by someone else? As for the mix proportions, I just use whatever, couple of chucks of salt, a few squeezes of lemon and fill it up with warm water to dissolve it all. I'm only new at this myself, so take my advice with a grain of salt.
i've never gotten all the wax out of my dreads from well over a year ago but i've heard people had sucess with boiling water and dipping their locks in (very carefully) adn also using dish soap (since its made to cut grease), but i havent personally done either. oh and i used to use 1:1:8 parts lemon juice, sea salt, warm water
