    Silly Angel,

There's nothing like going to a midnight showing of Night of the Living Dead during the summer, with a 3 stooges short to kick things off.:)

I've just seen 'land of the dead'
and it was ok, but not only could I not see who was being killed half the time, the charaters where really bland, it felt like the whole thing was an introduction with the actual movie never starting

im a zombie fanatic, i've seen almost all of the movies mentioned here and many many more. most suck terribly (house of the dead comes to mind, though it was an awesome arcade game) , some are pretty cool, but nothing compares to romeros vision of what a zombie movie should be, that man is a god and a genious. i have read some of the zombie survival guide, it was written by..max..something....the son of the guy who did blazing saddles and spaceballs.

at anyrate, the whole knock out the first floor and live on the second is what im alll about, though knowing zombies mass in large numbers, i'd knock out the basement stairs too so instead of them climbing on eachother to get up (which could be done with as little as 10-15 zombies) there would have to be enough zombies to fill up the basement and the first floor (assuming the stairs to the top floor are above the stairs up from the basement) in order for them to reach you on the second....and hopefully at that point, you'll still have rations, and an attic to further retreat to.
yea, im obsessed with zombie preperation, when i am rich, im gonna make a giant zombie proof fortress

I watched Zombie Flesh Eaters 2 last night, what an appalling movie! Perfect fodder for Mystery Science Theatre 3000 though, hilariously bad!

Ah yeah. I have much love for zombie movies. There is something so simple and beautiful about a zombie ripping into a hunk of flesh. :D

Though a lot of people look down on it, my favorite zombie movie has to be Day of the Dead. I'm telling you, that dissected zombie in the lab that does it for me. :H

    GOD DAMN YEA!

Day is the BEST zombie movie, EVER. Its what got me into horror movies, i freaking love it, the gore effects were the best, even for today, and it uses no cgi its just fucking amazing, i love it, its epic.

Bubs my hero, and the zombie in the lab? when he turns over and his insides come out and dr frankenstien drills through his head :)

Did you ever read the original script for Day? Man, I love Day, but it's nowhere near as epic as the original story he wanted to shoot. Check it out sometime, it's great.

    Some other tasty treats:

    - Zombie Honeymoon: (Really good romance/zombie story.)
    - Undead: (Really weird Australian zombie flick, with aliens and shit.)
    - Dead Meat (Scottish zombie flick. Complete with zombie cow. Fun.)
    - I, Zombie
    - Cemetary Man (not traditional zombie film, but plenty of the undead, great flick)
    - Re-Animator (I like all of them)
    - Dead & Breakfast (not as funny as Shaun of the Dead, but okay)
    - Pet Semetary (zombie pets)
    - Dead Next Door

I freaking love Shaun of the Dead. It was one of the first DVDs I bought, I couldn't resist it's description "a zom-rom-com"

And I love all the refrences to the classic zombie films throughout the film..and the way that they show exactly how it would be if zombies were to invade one hungover Sunday morning in surburbia. The uselessness of the action hero chracters is great "ooooh he's got an arm off!"

As for the other debate on this thread - Romero all the way. He sets the standards and his films offer so much more than just a gorefest - they have that too but they have the anti-consumer socity commentary too.

Ooh ooh, and then there is the awesome cameo of Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg (who wrote/directed and wrote/starred in Shaun of the Dead) in Land of the Dead - they play the zombies chained up for living people to take photos with. Yay in-jokes!

Yea, I just picked up City of the Living Dead, shit rocks.

I finally got to see dead&breakfast, it was pretty good and different from most movies but at the same time, its just like every other movie.
