Howdy all. I have been lurking a long time(in a non perverted way. I SWEAR) and have found that you all swear by Dr Bronners liquid soaps for your dreads. Ive been trying to grow dreads for 2 and a half months now using the dread hq shampoo and not brushing my hair once. THe probolem is that im part asain and have long dead straight black hair and it didnt get a single knot in it. I recently backcombed the bejesus out of my hair and it is now dreaded and has been for some time.

Im planning on switching to Dr Bronners soaps but i was wondering would they be as good as the dreadhead HQ residue free ones. I was planning on getting this one

Oh and the reason im using ebay is because i live in australia and they dont seem to ship to aust. If anyone knows of any online stores that will deliver to Australia it would be great. Thanx.

Hi there, I live in Australia and I can buy Dr Bronners at my local organic food store. So maybe check out larger health food stores and stuff, if they don't have it ask if they could get it in for you. I think the bottles are about $12, but not 100% sure, cause I use the bar soap which is $6.50

I don't know what the Dreadhead HQ ones are like, never used the stuff.

Mr. Gordon, it's actually just a soap.

It's one of the best soaps available, completely vegan and all natural. It works as a shampoo really, really well. The tea-tree oil flavor, of course, has essential tea tree oil, which is amazing for your scalp.

the dread head stuff is the devil. pahleeez don't put that stuff in your hair! the chemicals are so harsh, it'll end up killing your scalp, and it really doesn't do much for dreading... as far as I can tell. go for Doc Bronner's, that's really spectacular stuff. dilute it as you're washing, and rinse well, but it'll be fine... the tee tree soap smells wonderful, and I noticed it helps knotting, and is nice on the scalp. have fun! :)

I like it better than other residue-free stuff I've used, it makes me feel squeeky-clean and refreshed, I use it in place of all other shower products, and alittle goes a long way, so it lasts forever. And the bottle's fun to read in the shower.

Have you tried the other suggestions on the bottle, like brushing your teeth with it? I'm a little frightened to try that one :)

I used Bron's to brush my teeth, (peppermint, right!), and it tasted like peppermint soap. Worked, though.
