    hi there,

i'm in the last trimester (35 weeks) and i have some sexual urges but i'm afraid that something will happen to the baby inside the womb.

the question is: is it safe to have sex and oral sex just a few weeks before due date? how soon will i have to stop having sex/oral sex?

    answers would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks.

oral sex should be fine no matter what

I believe that you can have sex just about as late into the pregnancy as you want... but you may want to wait for another opinion

Last trimester? Are you on weekly check-ups? Your HCP would know the restrictions suitable for you and your baby.

    Have fun!

do check with teh doc/ midwife. Sex is often used to bring on contractions.

Sex is fine even until labour as long as your waters haven't broken. Semen is a good prostaglandin and helps soften/ripen your cervix.

We're only two weeks away from our due date.

Regular sex how? We have to adjust our positions to avoid my buldging belly, but other than that, if it's comfortable we do it! If it isn't comfortable we try something else.

I think she meant regular as in time, not as in position. Regular as in weekly, bi-weekly sort of thing.

Oh, well that depends on how much energy I have. It's starting to wind down to about an average of twice a week :p

ah. me too. but i think we are winding down our sexual activity because my baby moves a lot, getting a little hard, leading to discomfort. do you experience that sort of baby movement, too? do you feel a little bit of pain or something?

i would love to hearyour experiences of pregnancy. all members are welcome to drop by.

    thanks. :)

Oh yes, the baby likes to stretch a lot which shoves his butt into my ribs and is quite uncomfortable at times. I also get little kicks and punches to my sides and bladder. I like feeling the baby move, but it is getting quite cramped in there and he is a strong little bugger :)

lol, i have the same experience as yours. yes, it feels good when baby moves but at the same time, it gives me some weird feelings/quite discomfort, tho. :) all you have to do is massage your belly to calm down ur baby. i heard that listening to classical music may be helpful.

when are you due? u said 2 weeks from now, right? that wld be in the beginning of april eh? i'm due in the mid-april. is it a girl or a boy? is it ur first child? i hope you dont mind me asking. you seem to be a nice person. ;)

    keep in touch.

April 1st is my exact due date, but I am already starting to dilate so it could be any day now - although I dont feel like I am going to go into labor soon. It is my first child and it is a boy. My husband and I are very excited, although I think the baby's grandparents are even more excited than we are (it's the first grandchild on both sides of the family).

Wow, that's pretty soon~! I'm happy for both of you. [IMG]

Yes, I've experienced a slight rounds of dilation and it's normal. I would call it a fake contraction or something.

My husband and I are very much thrilled. We are going to have a boy, too. It is our first child. How odd is that? LOL... I"m due on April 18th but it could happen any day in the midweek of April. I'm so looking foward to have a wonderful bond with the baby, so are you. [IMG]

Good luck with your son and let it bring him a great joy and happiness!

    Be well!
