My Last Words

To my fellow hippies:
This is my last post on this site. I came here with the hope that this could be a place where I could express myself and my beliefs without being judged, ridiculed, and mocked. I guess that was wishful thinking on my part. I am leaving HippyLand due to my disgust with what I have seen by select members, and the moderators. My friends, do not be fooled by the appealing mission statement; THIS SITE IS NOT A FREE SPEECH SITE! I saw Campbell34 banned before my eyes for speaking his mind. Ikdenkhetnietwas banned for unkown reasons, because his posts were erased all together. This is the stuff of George Orwell's 1984, not a hippie site advocating free speech. Brothers and sisters, don't be fooled, the men in charge are no better than the censor-happy government we tolerate today. They have hidden agendas. I heard one (he will not be named) threaten a member by saying, "My banning finger is getting itchy!" Many on this site claim to hate hypocracy, yet they compromise this claim by banning members who wish to speak thier mind. My fellow hippies, do not be fooled by this site!

To the ones in charge of this site:
I will pray for you.

To my fellow Christians:
(Whose names will not be named, for fear that they too will be targeted)
May Jesus protect and bless you in every aspect of your life. May you never forget The One who died for you. Don't ever forget your purpose and responsibility in life, which is to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. May you never stray from the teachings of the most high God, and even though the world mocks and ridicules you, may you always bless those who curse you and turn the other cheek. God bless.

To the non-believers:
I cannot and will not force my beliefs upon you. All I can ever do is present you with the truth that has set me free; and the truth is that God loves you unconditionaly. He loves you so much that He sent His only son to earth, to die on a cross for our sins, so that we may be free. To recieve God's forgiving love and grace, all you have to do is humble yourself before Jesus, and admit to Him that you are not perfect, and that you need Him to save you. It's that simple. May your mind always be open to the truth.

Yup, this site ain't perfect, but I mainly keep to the music section myself. Speaking of which, have you picked up on that Christian black metal recommendation I gave you in the metal subsubsubforum (Kekal, Antestor, Slechtvalk, Frosthardr, Drottnar, Horde...)?

I've tried all these things you say, but I still cannot see Him. It does bother me, really. Could it be so that it was just not meant to be for some people?

This website has never been a free speech site. It's just a gimmick to entice more members. The only way it is free speech is the fact that you can say whatever you want in the respect of words, but as for the actual way you put those words together is another story.

Welcome to reality: Where not even the internet is free speech.

Maybe, but if we start to censor beliefs, no matter what, then the very fundamentality of our own freedom is being destroyed. It's the fact that we are allowed to believe whatever we want which seperates us from oppressing countries in the East; although that's debatable.

 

If I looked up the posts by the people you mentioned, would I find intellegent, thoughtful remarks aimed at honest debate or would I find trolls spreading flamebait and being offensive to those who do not agree with them ?

Freedom of speech can be used in any way a person wants to use it. Perhaps those raging Nazi's are saying the same thing about non-Nazi's. It's because of freedom of speech that we have the right to complain and question other peoples belief, and also agree and answer them. Freedom of speech brings war and peace. Without one the other would collapse.

People have different perceptions of love.

 

It's difficult to have a debate with christians.They know ALL the answers and consequently no one else can ever have a valid point,according to them.A dead friend of mine was attacked by one of those pricks banned--a good christian friend indeed.I'm glad the assholes are gone.Let'm go preach to the choir somewhere.Intractability does not make for debates.

Oh right, sorry. But yes, I agree with you entirely, but unfortunately hate is as prevalent as peace in our society, if not more, and a peaceful utopia will never happen.
