Here it is the 14th of March and it's 7 degrees F or -14C. We usually get our start into the greenhouse on April 1st. I dont know about this spring ? This as far as the little green babies have made it and we are running out of room.
Hi guys! I am not going to complain about the snow we are due this weekend - just when the broad beans were starting to look like plants.... I panicked this morning. They now have a fleece cover... I have Ree sitting next to me and he is looking forward to the snow so he can build a snowman - despite the fact that we will probably get no more than a few inches. He is fascinated by yours!!
I am jealous you can grow tomatos in snow. Great picture! It's been in the eighties for a week here, so I can't relate. We had a warm winter and an early spring. I'll probably have tomatos before July 4th this year.
Well its supposed to be 80f+ degrees here this weekend. Its 75 today. In freakin March, no less. Well if theres an upside to Global Warming, its extended growing seasons for us. Now I am worried that I am too far behind in my plantings. If these trends keep up all the gardening calenders and zones are going to have to be redone.
Well I guess its warming up, 17 above this morning. Gardener.. At least we dont have your 110+ summers here. I remember going through your area on the way to grandma's house in southern Oregon, 50 years later I can still remember the heat.....
Yeah, it does get warm here. But if you stick around long enough you get used to it. I've grown quite used to it. Usually 3 to 4 months of triple digits.
Yeah: its what your used to. As a teenager in Mendocino County, we'd be out bucking hay in triple digits. Now if it gets more than 75, Im looking for shade and a cold beer.....Dennis
