Please go to this site and give me an opinion of this band. www.myspace.com/bloodjinn They will be releasing their first CD under the Pluto Records label, next Tuesday 3/6. Please let me know what you think.
You/they sound focused and the artwork looks cool. There's even some pieces I actually enjoyed. I'm not really into aggressive, technical metal so I'm not full of praise, but consider this reply a compliment.
Christ, what's going on with the singing? Musically, a brilliant listen but I can't stand them vocals.
Thank you for the input. Anymore will certainly be welcomed. This is not actually my band, but my daughter's boyfriend's band. He's the lead guitarist, Kyle Rakes. He's wanting to continue to move them toward more old style Metal, on their next CD. Do you think the move would help their fan base or is the style on this CD more accepted now? Being an old fogey, I'm not into the screaming either, not that it's not good, just not my taste. However, musically I think they're quite talented. They just released a CD on Pluto Records, available on line and in Best Buys nationwide. I hope you get a chance to pick up one of their CDs.
I can't say that I liked Emmure too well. I guess it's just a bit too hardcore for me. I look for good guitar solos and a melodic sound. Emmure's just not my taste, but I wish them good luck.
Thank you for you comments. Pick up a CD on line if you like them. With the lead guitar player being my future son-in-law, anything that will make him money, I'm all for.
This is a great technical hardcore i absolutely love it. As for a cd review i'm not to sure anyone can do it.
I don't like the new album. It's nothing new from the band, it's more generic and less interesting than Leave This World Breathing. I saw the band a few years ago, kept wanting to hear new stuff from them, but when this cd came out I was extremely disappointed.
Thanks for the input from both of you. I must disagree that the new CD isn't new. IMO, its much more melodic and old-school, with many more tempo changes. Their older music seemed to have nearly the same tempo in each song. Other than a couple of tracks, which were redone from their old music, the music was written by a new band member who is more of a technical Dream Theatre lover. You can hear a bit of DT in a couple of the songs. I hope you give the entire new CD a chance. I believe you will enjoy it. They'll be touring starting in May. I hope you get a chance to see them live. Thanks again.
