i desperetly want one of these now it looks so bitchin, but they are out of stock everywhere. i emailed a guy on craigslist about getting one for 290, and it includes 8 games, and he said he would deliver it for free! that would be sublime. playing Wii on a projector
What's so cool about the Wii? I don't get it. The new control system is nice at first, but I think I don't like to play all my games like that. The only reason I'd want it is for the new Zelda game, but I understand it will be released on the gamecube as well.
its already been released on gamecube. i bought it and beat it...pretty great game. I just like how the wii is all about interaction. And the wii has alot of great features, like allowing you to play gamecube games on there, internet access to let you buy old nintendo games, it tells you the weather, and a whole lot of other stuff that im not sure of yet
Wii is overrated as shit. A few friends have it and I've played a couple of games on it. All get old really fast. I still think that the Supernintendo and the 64 were the best gaming systems ever... everything else is, like George said, overkill.
I agree. I do like my xbox though, and the ps2 is ok as well. But if you have one of those, you don't need the other. Same with next gen consoles I think, and I wouldn't choose the Wii from those.
Yeah, if I was going to get a new one... (though I'm not and don't care for new consoles), I personally, on technical reasons/advice would wait at least 1-2 years, as initial release games are total shit and never sell, wait for the bugs to get worked out and better titles to be released, pay less for both the console and the games, get the newer version of the console, and get something more so worthwhile, such as the PS3/Xbox 360, as well... I don't see it very logical or sensible to buy something with shitty titles that I may have stolen from me at gun or knife point in the parking lot, anyway, and have it cost that much. Every five years or so, on average, you have your software upgrades... same way with cars and every other technological "feat"... but they don't tell you that you're going to need, or at least want, $500 worth of nuts and bolts/accessories. Technology is not always something to be thrilled about. Technology is much like... relationships or something, if you put it on a reasonable level and work with it. Sometimes you have to play hard to get with technological advancements. That's why I don't own an ipod yet. I'd rather wait ayear (relax, it'll still be there) and have all the advancements at a lower cost... And it's not like you can afford it right when the damn things come out anyway. So, the best advice I can give you is to hold your horses, unless you want to not do that, but that is totally up to you.
It's supposed to. It wouldn't be so marketable, otherwise. Same way with how they turned those honking wood stereo consoles from the 60s and 70s in the flashy-ass plastic things of today. As... they wouldn't be marketable otherwise. I bet you I could scrape a dead rabbit off of the side of the road, sprinkle some glitter on it, throw some sequins on it, and sell it for a few more dollars that you would have before, at least here in the US. For some reason, it makes sense to all of us around the Western world to pay more for shipping and all that damn useless packaging rather than than paying your own citizens and workforce enough to maintain a stable economy or average life... Sure, I believe in a free market, but when Wal-Mart invades a town of 1000 or less and offers 300 permanent jobs while taking 400-500 spread throughout the town, it still amounts to 100 to 200 people that are going to be jobless, which means one year your town will explode with a new subdivision, and the next year, half of the people in that subdivision will have left and gone somewhere else looking for something better to put up with. But really... how far can they really continue in such a backasswards direction before they sell an arm and a leg, have one foot in their mouth, and the other foot up someone else's ass... meanwhile someone else has their foot crammed up the Wal-Mart guy's ass... in an endless congo line of business management and ass piracy.
I'd like to rent a wii for a weekend. It looks greatly fun but I think it would get old fast and lets face it - us gamers are lazy folk. Sometimes the point of playing a video game is to do something non-physical. *stares at her DDR mat*
and the wii i was hoping to get is a total scam im just gonna wait till they have them in stock again in the stores
I heard about a mom who actually died trying to get her sons a wii game. I believe it was a radio show game called "hold your wii" where you had to drink like a gallon of H20 in a hour and whoever held their "wii" the longest time won. Anywho, that's me getting off topic. I too miss the old supernintendo and sega genesis. Nowadays, video games just aren't the same.
I feel like the media has slowly included themselves in video games. Haha... I feel crazy for thinking this way, but I correlate it with the evolution of hip hop and rap. If you think about it, they started out pretty mellow.. I mean, you had like... (S)NES and Atari and MC Hammer, now you've got 50 cent and the gangster-ass consoles like wii/ps3.
It was meant in a general context. Both the "hardcore/extreme factor" of the games, console, graphics, in comparison to the "hardcore/extreme factor" that MC Hammer appears to be, at the time, in combination with our good friend Sonic the Hedgehog, who was also featured in a free game along with the Sega Genesis, in 1994. Now, if you compare and contrast... I mean you went from "nah na na na na na na na nanaaaa, Can't touch dis..." to "I gotz shot wit a .45 caliber BB gat nine times.... IN DA FACE... nucka, ho ho" and well... the fact that people have been jumped and murdered for the godforsaken things? It's rather obvious to me.
