i've been planning a trip to washington for a few months now. Well, not really planning, but hoping. is there anyone here from washington state who is willing to give me some advice and stuff about the state, and maybe even be willing to meet up and stuff.......like i said, nothing is very well planned right now. But with this, i could at least have a thought of what it's gonna be like when i hit the road. i will be going by myself. I'm 18.Also, i'm a good guy(meaning i will not kill you, nor your dog). This trip means alot to me. E-mail- pipe_che87@hotmail.com AIM- mudafa king felipe thanks!!
I'm not from Washington State, but I've been there a few times. It's great. Hope you get to go, and when you do, have a great time!!
Well, what part of Washington are you going to? Because eastern and western are very different. I live in the east, in the "Tri-Cities". The town's not great, but it has really good weather(lots of sun) and outdoor things (it's pretty and there's a bunch of rivers). Around us there's Walla Walla, which is a big college town, and Spokane, which is the biggest city in eastern Washington. Also, there is Yakima (which claims to be "the Palm Springs of Washington", but don't be fooled...), and Ellensberg, which is nothing to shout about. Leavenworth (which may be spelled incorrectly) is cool, it's a bavarian town, though it is better in the winter. All in all, it's a good road trip area. And there is the western part, which I assume is where you are actually headed. Of course there is Seattle, which is cool (though I prefer Portland, Oregon). They have a really cool music museum, EMP, next to the space needle (just say no to the space needle). Then there is Olympia, the capital, which is a pretty cool place, very artsy. Then there is a bunch of towns that I'v never been to, but you should go to some of the islands in the Puget Sound, they are beautiful. Oh, and if you are into Nirvana, you can check out Aberdeen, which I hear has become quite cute.
Sorry, I entered that last one on accident. Was just gonna tell you there is a lot of mountains, too, that are good for hiking. I'm definatley not the foremost expert on Washington state, but if you want to know anything else, or want me to elaborate on anything, just ask. I should be able to help. Oh, and sorry if this was too much info, or stuff you already knew. I didn't realize that I had so much stuff to say when I set out writing this. Good luck!
As far as I know there's not too much to do here really, there's alot of good lakes for summer activities though, lake chelan's pretty cool. Spokane's really boring, sure it's big, and looks like a city, but in reality it's more of a joke. The local music scene here sucks balls for the most part, The venues especially are terrible. The weather's better than Seattle's in some ways, but it's less consistent and extremely random. The best thing about spokane are the people, there's alot of cool people here, but there's alot of douchebags too. If i had the chance, i'd take all my friends and leave. Central-eastern washington (around Chelan) is full of small cities probly littered with illegal mexicans, and the towns' are just run down, so its' kinda bleak, but every state has those i guess. the scenery pretty much makes up for this. another great thing about washington/oregon is barterfairs. there's absolutely nothing like it, i think. but basically people who own a huge amount of property and just happen to be hippies and counterculturists throw fairs where you can just go and chill, kick it by the fire, take some doses, eat some mushies, smokes bowls upon bowls' with random people you don't know but feels like you've known em or should have known em your whole life.trade shit for random shit, and just trip out. i've had hella good times there. they start up every year from april and i think the very last one is on halloween, but i guess the last one's normally supposed to be in august. they have live music there, sometimes really good music, actually, they always have good trippy ass fantastic music, but one time they had flowmotion, a really good popular psychadelic funk band from seattle. anyway, i havn't been to alotta cities here so i cant really tell you what you should do.
I live on the west side of washington and i love it here. It is beautifully green here and depending on what time you are planning your trip, there are some pretty awesome festivals. well i am down for meeting up with you if you are heading over this way.
AHHHHHHHHH Tri Cities are bad dont go there. =P Born and raised in Washington. Im living in Seattle now. Honestly man in WA stay on the west. I dont like the east side at all. Spokane and other cities as such are just ... well not exciting.
