That said, we shouldn't have to assume that someone's straight purely because they don't explicitly state that they're a homo. That's called "heteronormative". It's not nutty to be attracted to someone and to ask them out if you're not sure one way or the other and can't be arsed to trawl around trying to find out from their mates or whatever. The idea that it's okay for someone to be offended just because you asked them is kinda gash.

Haha, well, unless there's actually a straight equivalent of the gay bar (and shit there really should be), the whole notion of a "straight bar" is arguably "heteronormative". If straights are going to descend upon gay bars en masse, I figure we should push back a little.
